  1. Question Best media for print and cut product labels.

Sounds to me like you might have an adhesion issue. What are you trying to stick the product labels to?
  2. Which printer would you buy?

Durst RHO 2500L. We wouldn't get any roll through it really, but of we could only choose one, rigid boards pay the bills around here. Honestly, there are some single pass machines out there for a few million bucks, but I don't know enough about them and I don't think they would fit in our shop.
  3. Two projects

    Very nice!
  4. bar coaster material

Accurate Litho There is a company called Katz that sells it. They used to sell the stock in large sheets, not just coasters. Not sure if they still do. They have a coaster reseller program though. https://katzamericas.com/resellers/ Careful though, it really needs to be die cut. Like on a...
  5. Scissor lift on slope

My heart is racing a little reading through these comments. Reason #32 why we are trade-only and just do the printing.
  6. New customers from online to local

So much of the supply issues are more product driven. Promotional products imported from China. They're just sitting on ships off the coast. The lead time isn't in decorating, it's in getting supplies.

  10. Copy of permit to customer?

Seems like a reasonable request to me.
  11. Anyone Having PVC Availability Problems

Yes. PVC has probably been the most difficult thing for us as of recent. Aluminum is also out, but we don't run as much of that.
  12. New customers from online to local

Yeah. Everything is crazy right now. I know we are doing everything we can to keep things stable for our resellers. The big online guys are more price driven and not as concerned with lead times I don't think.
  13. Back-ordered materials- what are you having trouble finding?

Yeah, rush orders without inventory is trouble for sure.
  14. Need to resurrect old sign business and upgrade all equipment

Welcome to the world of signs! We'd love to help you on your journey as a trade-only partner. As far as equipment, you will get as many options listed here as you can count. All I can say is ask for test prints and try to meet your local service technicians if you can. If you can see the...
  15. Is there any one man shop making around 500k$ in annual sayles

I see most shops in the sign and print industry being in $150-$250k per employee. 500k for a one man shop would be impressive. Lots of automation and outsourcing I would imagine, or a small number of very large artistic products that require lots of contractors maybe?
  16. Anyone here part of a 100+ employee company?

We're only about 30, and most everyone here has their shot, but I am curious what it's like throughout our industry in larger organizations. Seems like this is going to be pretty difficult to enforce.
  17. 10m coroplast hole punch recommendation

What about a hand held router?
  18. New printer keeps dropping of the network

Are these the only two devices on this mini-network? Can you try a direct connection using a crossover cable? Take the hub out of the equation? Also, maybe try a switch or a router, rather than a hub?
  19. Advice

I agree with Gino here. Reputation is everything. It's the reason some shops will command $1500 for a job while others complain their customer's don't want to pay $500 for the same work. --- A couple of years ago we quoted a $40,000 job for real-estate signs to be shipped all over the country...
