If I needed them to make purchases for me, I would set up a specific capital one credit card for them to use if I needed them to buy anything. That would be easy enough to...
I'm sure an accountant would disagree, but for a one or two person shop, I think this is perfectly reasonable.
You made it 45 years in this business, I can't say that yet. You've done something right!
Have any of you had any luck using a virtual assistant? What kinds of projects?
Do you buy blocks of hours off of something like fiverr or do you just have them on a monthly retainer?
If you don't have one yet, would you consider hiring one?
I hate to ask, but any horror stories?
I'll...
White Haus I have had a tough time really taking advantage of a virtual assistant unless I have a specific project like this. I have purchased blocks of hours from this gig a few times. (I usually purchase at least 4hrs, regardless of the project) She does a really good job. The list is...
I hear good things about the tri-state show. It's not far from us. We definitely need to get down there.
I have my fingers crossed. I'm ready to start traveling again for sure. Most of our staff is vaccinated (myself included), so not real worried there, but it's still a concern.
SignMeUpGraphics I hear ya!

This is an important point you bring up Gino
You have to be careful when calculating subbed out work because it's more than just your time and materials. Subbed out work should fall more within a market rate, or sell it at the similar price to what you would sell it at if you were doing the...
ColorCrest That makes sense too. I think the hard part is actually calculating how much time something will take.
Time x Hourly Rate + Materials + Material Markup = Selling Price (To put it very simply)
Calculating times takes experience. It was the hardest thing I fought with during my...
I feel like this comes up alot, so I took some time to make a simple calculator and a video explaining it. Let me know what you think. I would love to hear your feedback, good or bad.
Thanks everyone!
They are changing over the MIS system. Causing real headaches. Midwest will become Midwest Screen and Grimco will be running all the signage business.
It's too bad they couldn't keep them separate. We bought alot from Agfa and Midwest before the acquisitions.
