Need a lot more detail in order to help you with any advice. Is the plexi clear or white? Is the customer wanting you to re-use his existing panels? Is the logo full color or 1 color? Lot's of details you are leaving out here....Help us help you :smile:

Note - I didn't say use 3M primer :) I just said prime the area.....Lots of ways to do that, inlcuding but not limited to slightly abrading the surface.

Speed boats/bass boats are like dirt bikes. If someone is wanting something that is going to last for a while, then you gotta go old school and paint it. Impact/Debris is going to cause tears, no matter WHAT you do. The tenting/pulling you are talking about is a function of not using any heat...

Yup. Really depends on the depth you want. If they can just use bags of silica, it's SUPER cheap.... Of course, you have to know how to properly paint.....

If you know how to cut masking, just do that, set the job up, then take your piece to a local sandblaster. Depending on size, you should be able to get it blasted for around $100. I like using cemetery monument companies for this. Then just paint your sign!

You are all dead on point here. I can say with certainty that I have NEVER had a good experience with an out of area "National" company. DaNite Signs is right up the road from us (30 miles) and they have quite a few national accounts. I've had nothing but great experiences working with them, but...

You're right - it IS crazy. My guess is that they make REALLY $hitty signs. Ugly, 1 color, cut vinyl crap.

From everything I have read, the Rogue Roller will fit your bill at about $8k less than the Rolls.

Whether it's flatbed outsourced or not isn't the issue. The issue is that I still have to lay out the sign, set up the file, send it off, etc. That costs $$. My first price break is at 10 pieces. You get a 10% break. Why would someone invest in a piece of equipment for $100k+ with the idea...
