  2. SP540V Static Hair On Blue Only...?

Well, the cable swap is one way to determine if the problem is the PRINT HEAD or something else, if the swap procedure is done correctly (without zapping the fuse), and the static-blurred image transfers to the other print head you know it's NOT the print head that is bad, however if there is NO...

  5. is there any way to fix this blur? Roland SP54V

Yes, the two small surface mount fuses are loacated on the main board in the back of the printer. If one of the two fueses is blown (open), you need to replace it. They are very small and difficult to solder if you don't have experience with theses very small SMT electronic components. If too...
  6. solvent printing on fabric

Yep, that's what they did for me, also some of their solvent printable fabrics are listed as 58" and 126" wide, and they slit them to 54" for me ultrasonically to eliminate fraying and head strikes. Good company. :thumb:

MikeD - I had the same problem finding good info printing on fabric with my Eco-Sol printer (Roland SP-540V), doing a google search I discovered a great company called Fisher Textiles, they manufacture many different fabrics which have a special coating on the surface which allows them to be...

  12. SP540V Static Hair On Blue Only...?

Hey Richard, I'm just trying to help, I'm sorry to hear about your problem, and how it has escalated. Many times on here people have posted about the misting-blur problem, and some time when they change or wiggle the print head cables, it fixes the misting-blur problem. However there are...

  14. is there any way to fix this blur? Roland SP54V

Yes, do you have a multimeter that has a continuity setting? My multimeter has a continuity setting, when set to continuity, the meter makes a beep if you have continuity (closed circuit). If so, set the meter for continuity, and hold one probe on each side of the fuse, if you get a continuity...
  15. is there any way to fix this blur? Roland SP54V

Are you sure you didn't transpose (flip) the ends of the cables changing pin orientation?
  16. is there any way to fix this blur? Roland SP54V

Yes, the process of elimination procedure to check for a bad print head is to swap the print head cables, if the print head is the problem, swapping the cables will make NO difference. However if the blur is then transferred to the Yellow/Magenta image, the problem is either the cable or the...
  17. is there any way to fix this blur? Roland SP54V

Yep, that will tell you if it is the print head or the cable/electronics. If the blur stays on the CYAN/BLK, after swapping cables, you know it's the print head! Please use CAUTION not to BLOW the fuse, or you will have another problem! :thumb:
  18. is there any way to fix this blur? Roland SP54V

What does your test print look like, do you have this problem when you make a test print (post photo)? I have not had this problem myself, however I read about it in the past (on here), use the search function. And I believe it was related to a bad print head cable and or static. Being only...
  19. Converting raster image to vector for contour cutting

As others have mentioned, never heard of Design Art Pro, but also like others have mentioned, you should look into getting NEW software that is more commonly used in this industry, you can find older versions of Illustrator or Corel on ebay CHEAP, and both will do a better job for you using the...
