Outgassing on acrylic or polycarb or glass or aluminum is a fantasy. I used over 300 plastic panels, hundreds of windows, dozons of aluminum panels and never had a single instance of out gassing. Not one. Never. I never washed those panels with alcohol. I never let them sit to air out. I just...
A real designer would also consider the ever increasing costs of his tools. When said tool supplier raises prices above a certain level then its time to seek out alternatives.
I feel for me that adobe went above that point long ago and that some products are bloated with ever increasing useless...

Some of the posts on this thread are just wrong.
Another example of pile on the victim mentality.
If he is not getting service and is being left out because he is so far away then he has every right to flame.
Is his complaint any different from all those who whine about the low ballers?
i use inkscape and gimp all the time.
Truly amazing software for FREE.
Inkscape can even plot out gears and ratios.
Inkscape is great for converting photos into art usable for 3d dimensional vector art.
No it is not. There is no "Industry Standard" never has been never will be.
No it is not the "best". There is no "best".
If illy was the best there would be no need for all the plug ins it requires to do the same work that corel draw does without all those add on plugins.
Try grabbing a node...
I would like to include SignManiac and RT Thomas with that list too.
I know there are more corel guru's around.
But we know where that discussion leads.
Doesn't mean anything. How many background programs were running? How much ram was the video using? Did the software have all its updates? Was the disk formatted right? Too many variables to make a comparison for any specific machine.
Don't talk to me about provoking. Its all the jabbing at someone else that provoked myself into a response. More than a few of us are fed up with it all. To many threads someone comes on and bashes someone else. Either Gino is packing for addy or on this thread you were packing for bob.
So is...
Mistaken position.
Bob helps often. But in some misguided way it is overlooked by a few...
It is a fact that on some threads his advice was the only correct answer and sometimes the only one who posted.
Frankly the personal flame attacks are not only useless they are distracting and cause a...
Step one
Slave that drive into a working computer.
Step two
if you are lucky you will be able to see that drive and even look into it. Often a drive only loses its boot sector which is not needed to see the files.
Transfer those files to new drive using copy command.
DOS
slave the drive.

Some dfx files use the autocad format. They come in as line segments instead of arcs.
You join them using the weld command. And you can export them as arcs using a tool called dfxtools that will come out with the proper curves.
how did it crash?
You may get the files off without all that work. hook it up as a slave and use DOS commands to access the files. I do that procedure all the time. 95% of the time the files are fine and accessible.
