I've seen issues like that when a machine is set to cut as fast as possible and the media will stretch from the drastic moves the plotter makes at it's highest speed,... maybe slowing it down some might possibly help,....

simple solution,.... buy a 9 pin to 25 pin adapter for the cable (about $10) then buy and install a io comm port card for the pc that will fit the type slot available on your motherboard (rarely over $20)=no problems since the technology hasn't changed for the past 20 years other than the type...

that term is " blade offset " it applies to both aspects of cutting with a swivel knife

if windows sees 4 partitions(separate drives) more than likely there are 4 actual partitions on the drive,...I would contact the manufacturer's support and inquire if it is possible to repartition the card without hurting it so the nook still can use it,...

I was just going to suggest tightening the knife carriage and the belt that drives it,... if the screws to the knife carriage were loose,...you might also want to check the belt tension while you have the cover off,....
