  1. Vinyl Types

"Outdoors" is pretty ambiguous, but sure; 651 works fine outdoors. It's thicker and less conformable (not best for vehicles); and shinks more and faster (not great for windows). But it'll last 3 to 5 years outdoors, no prob.
  2. This?

Wow; Gary Fisher bikes has a logo treatment that changes all the time: http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/logo/G/gary_fisher_bikes-eps-209986.html But Gary invented the mountain bike, so that's cool.
  3. Can I legally print these?

    +1 to that
  4. Weeding tips anyone?

But another suggestion is to try every tool: weeder-knife; tweezer; weeder-pin. Spend a few bucks and some time testing what works best for you. The pay-off is days, weeks maybe even months of time-saving. IMHO, jd
  5. Weeding tips anyone?

Light table. Easy to fabricate, and you'll take tons of time off of your weeding time. IMHO, jd Correction: Redundant!
  6. Newbie needs help

Welcome, from sunny (but cold!) Texas. Yeah; prep might be an issue with adhesion. But temperature is eveything with the newer high-tech wrap films. 50F is just too cold an environment; the surface temp of the vehicle and film will never get to where it should be, ideally. Your...
  7. Design for a school that will be printed tomorow!!

Example: my own local High School, the Gainesville Tigers. The Greenbay Packers G is visible from the I-35; its huge and backlit. http://www.kgaf1580.com/ghs_stadium_gallery.htm JMO, jd
  8. Design for a school that will be printed tomorow!!

It's probably moot. It's not like you're selling counterfeit logo wear. Smaller schools frequently "borrow" from the big guys and it goes unchecked. Plus worst case is, you print it and get paid. Then UW legal sends a cease and desist to the school. You print another one and sell it...
  9. Colored Magnetic Sheeting

Nah; I'm just an underling. But Larry and The Gripps do, big time, with probably just about every vendor on the planet. So I'll make a point of adding this to our management meeting agenda. Hopefully we can get a solution. But pull equates to tension in two directions, almost exclusively...
  10. Colored Magnetic Sheeting

Agreed Dave, I'll send your gripe to the very top. (Larry and The Gripps) Meanwhile, I just got to the bottom of the confusion. We had colors, and scaled back to Red only, in the colored product. Then it sold out. But an error in our ordering system showed we had still had inventory...
  11. Colored Magnetic Sheeting

We have it in stock, according to Taffy Delgato. Call 800.699.5514 or send Taffy an email at taffy.delgato@signwarehouse.com. Best, Jim

  13. Winter Wonderland...

Around 10F at night and staying below 32F during the day here in Gainesville, TX. But with the help of Valium and support groups, I think we might get through it. :^)
  14. Ohio Newbie

Welcome from Texas! PS: No worries Stealth Ryder; Texas is nearly as cold as Ohio about now. Brrrr (plus, we ain't built for this).
  15. hello

Hey Howdy, from North Central Texas. You'll love this site. Really helpful folks. Best, jd
  16. Vinyl Types

I'd suggest using Premium as a rule, unless it's a down and dirty cheapy or temp. Especially use premium on windows and vehicles to avoid dirty edges due to the calendered face stock shrinking more than the adhesive layer. Plus, vehicles and windows are great work. No substrate, which is...
  17. Colored Magnetic Sheeting

Hi Dave, I'll look into it immediately. Best, jd
  18. Colored Magnetic Sheeting

I agree with rcook99, paint or vinyl. Magnetic is spendy; vinyl is cheap. Minimize your magnetic inventory. IMHO, Jim
  19. Three weeks in to the Graphtec CE5000-60

    Suhhhhhhweeeeet!
  20. square foot pricing?!

Square foot pricing is fine if they're bringing a file and buying vinyl/print-lam and substrate. For everything else, I think you need to build on the theme of you're the most reliable path to their success, i.e., on company vehicle stuff: Price is relative; I can letter your company name...
