See guys, wasn't that simple to explain yourself regarding latex vs. eco-solvent? I also find Roland's latest ads odd and I own one. When you have to deride a competitor the argument has been lost.
Feet to the coals time. If it is as you say "pure crap" please post your hard data.
What were your research parameters?
What formulas were used to arrive at your metrics to eliminate skewed data?
What was your n ?
Or are you basing your statement on the Null Hypothesis?

Monitor calibration is only one component of a color managed workflow. Controlling color on a monitor does no good if your output devices are not similarly controlled. Same goes for all input devices.
Very easy to spend a ton of money getting the correct equipment. You will also spend a lot...
I'm betting the kits you see are from OEM licensed shops which means they work directly with Ford, Chevy etc...

Although before I would buy another RS product I'd get a USTech. Not bashing RS just the fact...
Behrmon is spot on.
Here is what we do:
Always have CutContour on its own layer. CutContour layer is always at the top. All files get saved as press quality PDF's.
If you do that and don't see the "marching ants" open your press quality PDF in Acrobat and burn a PostScript file. Works 99...
Why are flatbed printers so unreliable? Just like the nightly news, folks here ONLY report the horror stories. Not that they made a million bajillion dollars with it before it blew up.
It would be cool to have maintenance costs/downtime data.
I order it from my sub. Has a slight texture to hide scratches and dings. Normally use for trade show displays. 0.030" is what we order as it can be rolled and put in a tube. Can go all the way to 0.080", but on a countertop it would be overkill.
