    Need help...again.
  2. New HP Latex Printer Model

See guys, wasn't that simple to explain yourself regarding latex vs. eco-solvent? I also find Roland's latest ads odd and I own one. When you have to deride a competitor the argument has been lost.
  3. Automotive Clear Finish over Wrap

Perfectly fine to clear coat a laminated graphic. Valspar AC4400 clear is super tough. It's what I use on motorcycles. YMMV
  4. New HP Latex Printer Model

Feet to the coals time. If it is as you say "pure crap" please post your hard data. What were your research parameters? What formulas were used to arrive at your metrics to eliminate skewed data? What was your n ? Or are you basing your statement on the Null Hypothesis? "Far easier to...
  5. How to build election sign for trailer?

Looks good and solid. I take it you're using 2x4 framing. Going to take a lot of abuse riding on a trailer.
  6. Screen Calibration

Monitor calibration is only one component of a color managed workflow. Controlling color on a monitor does no good if your output devices are not similarly controlled. Same goes for all input devices. Very easy to spend a ton of money getting the correct equipment. You will also spend a lot...
  7. Vehicle stripe kits

I'm betting the kits you see are from OEM licensed shops which means they work directly with Ford, Chevy etc... This would give them access to all CAD/3D drawings of every body surface which means zero guesswork involved. IMO if you're only doing a a handful a year use KnifeLess tape.
  8. Roland and Latex

Hmm...never had to have a Roland tech come out every six months at $500 bucks a pop. If that was the case I never would have bought mine. Rolands must be made different for the Australian market.
  9. eco sol max inks safe?

I've always wondered what kind of hazardous compounds are released when a latex printer heats the media. Haven't found anything addressing that. Maybe it's a non-issue?
  10. New HP Latex Printer Model

Interesting. May be a good fit for our shop. Although we won't do anything until there is a serious issue with our Roland.
  11. Font Help

    Thanks for the ID.
  12. Font Help

Once again I need help from the font gurus.
  13. Help with Royal Sovereign RSC laminator

We have the RSC-1650C and its a good runner. Just took a bit to figure out how it wanted to be run. With my Rube Goldberg infeed contraption we can run a 50yd roll with less than a half inch drift. Although before I would buy another RS product I'd get a USTech. Not bashing RS just the fact...
  14. Roland CutContour help requested

Behrmon is spot on. Here is what we do: Always have CutContour on its own layer. CutContour layer is always at the top. All files get saved as press quality PDF's. If you do that and don't see the "marching ants" open your press quality PDF in Acrobat and burn a PostScript file. Works 99...
  15. Why Are Flatbed Printers So Unreliable?

Why are flatbed printers so unreliable? Just like the nightly news, folks here ONLY report the horror stories. Not that they made a million bajillion dollars with it before it blew up. It would be cool to have maintenance costs/downtime data.
  16. New VS Old..

I'd lose the hand cart and boxes. Would help clean it up. Nike, Reebok, Harley-Davidson etc... don't use any pictograms.
  17. Help selecting a new Mimaki printer

If you get the Mimaki latex you'd be the only person on this forum with one. Upside is you'd be able to answer all kinds of questions many of us have.
  18. Screen Printed Mud Flaps

  19. Countertop Material for UV Printing

I order it from my sub. Has a slight texture to hide scratches and dings. Normally use for trade show displays. 0.030" is what we order as it can be rolled and put in a tube. Can go all the way to 0.080", but on a countertop it would be overkill.
