  1. Anybody else using Sloan FlexiBrite?

    Nice. :thumb:
  2. Countertop Material for UV Printing

Great minds think alike. Could be printed second surface on styrene, but styrene doesn't turn corners too well.
  3. Countertop Material for UV Printing

Digital print on calendared with 10mil textured laminate.(could probably get away with 5mil textured) You're welcome.:Big Laugh
  4. Outdoor Wayfinding Sign Refinishing

"does not meet client requirements" in other words the client has no clue. As Bill suggested do and overlay and be done with it. If the client insists on refinishing existing bid accordingly, and when they balk at the price have a second bid using overlays. Bet ya a box of donuts I know...
  5. Vinyl/Lam Combo Preference for Vehicle Wraps

We use Arlon 6000XRP for everything outdoors. Wrap wise we only do partials. But we do supply another shop and their installers love it. IMO Arlon laminate is the best I've used so far. Lays down nice and is super glossy, but that's just my opinion. YMMV We got away from 3M because I didn't...
  6. Primer for Metals

Go to your local auto paint supply and get some DTM(direct-to-metal) primer. Tell them if you're using on steel or aluminum as the formula varies. Sherwin-Williams Automotive makes a good product.
  7. What would you do

Don't waste time trying to explain your position, it will fall on deaf ears. Just add the experience to your "I Won't Do this Anymore" list.
  8. Graduation Banners

If a client has a pro take pictures and the client paid for the session then buys the photos the photographer still owns them? Gotta be some details missing.
  9. Joint, head is damaged, Roland SOLJET PRO 4 XF-640

Good to know. Thank you for posting.
  10. Arlon 6000XRP Failures

What type of failures have you been experiencing? We've been using 6000XRP for a few years with no issues.
  11. Intel mac

May want to look into Parallels. Virtual Box from Oracle may be an option too. IIRC there are a few site members using Parallels with no issues.
  12. Adobe Shape & Adobe Illustrator Draw

What I learned from the video. Dude says "Yeah it's kinda crude, but that's the look I wanted". Ummm...more like the only "look" you're gonna get. IMO I don't see it putting the Vector Doctor out of business anytime soon.
  13. Best RIP for HP L360

So who trained you how to use it?:ROFLMAO:
  14. Heater settings, any " ballpark" guidelines?

On our SP540V we run the heaters at 38 pre and 39 post for everything. Used to run a tad hotter(40 and 41), but JetFlex changed the banner material. Too much heat made it soft as it ran over the post heat platen. Keep a close eye on temp and humidity in your shop. Simple way to eliminate some...
  15. Van's

By the time you hear about a major entity building a store the sign work has been done. Many formula stores work with a single source vendor for those products. They want consistency and a single point of contact. Heck, a sign shop 10 minutes from me goes all over the U.S. for installs. Only...
  16. Managing a business thats overloaded with work

If you have a great reputation people are willing to wait. They will also pay more for the privilege of not being lied too, having things done on time with quality products, and being charged exactly what was quoted.
  17. Best RIP for HP L360

IMO Onyx is not user friendly. Open this, click that, drop down blah blah blah. Oh you want to print that too...? Well just a few more clicks and you'll be off to the races.:banghead: It's 2015 things should be getting simpler and faster.
  18. Roland SP-540V Dampers?

We run the larger unit which has a bigger screen too. Here's where we get them: http://solventinkonline.com/ $24.00 for 8. That's not a typo. Been using them for a few years in our SP540V with zero issues
  19. Switched to Mac

They rock! Only issues I've noticed with CC have been software/cloud/network related.(no hardware issues) All student projects use Ai, Ps and Id.
