    Better question is if 3M materials are worth the premium price they charge. I've been shorted material, and had substrate/laminate issues with 3M. Point is I was paying $300 more for 3M kits than the material I now use. Paying that kind of a premium should negate those issues. Flame suit on.

    You can get a Summa D140 for 5 grand. They also have a trade in promotion going on right now. Summa's are built like tanks. Haven't killed ours yet.(roughly 15 years)

    Sub it out until you get to the point where it is more cost effective to bring production in house. You may find he sub contracting is the way to go. You go out and close orders and let someone else worry about production. Not a bad way to do business.

    Service, service, service. All brands break down and usually in the middle of huge job. You need to be able to get a tech on site same day or next day. Find a reputable dealer with good techs as close as possible to the shop.

    You guys should have been in my typography class. Instructor was relentless in regards to kerning.(leading too) Ascenders, descenders and their relationship to the layouts overall kerning was also examined in detail.

  20. New to perf printing - any do's/don't's?

    We make sure the file has decent enough resolution and print high speed.(50% of the print is missing so res isn't as critical) Prints get shot with automotive cut in clear after drying. We've sent these all over the U.S. and offshore and have many repeat clients. YMMV
