  1. Want bigger thermal printer!

One of these would do what you need: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vja1ij7cb5Y It may be the latest iteration of the Sprinter. Years ago I used to get all my full color prints done on a MATAN Sprinter. Maybe there are some used units out there?

Clear epoxy. Latex caulk. Automotive clear coat.
  3. Cheap Satin or Luster lam

I've had good results with Kapco products.
  4. Installing U-Channel posts in asphalt, suggestions?

THIS^^^^ By the time I would have rented the equipment plus traveling to get it, running it, hoping it doesn't break, and bringing it back...well you get the idea. Guy in my area has a Bobcat with custom attachments for such tasks and he's cheap. Best part is I don't have to do any of the...
  5. Wow Roland Cleaner Went Up In Price!

Not that I've noticed, and I use a syringe to fill the cap tops just before the head parks. I do regular maintenance on top of extra cleanings before a big run.
  6. How do you price vinyl lettering?

We have a one size fits most for DOT, EW, LC, IC etc... They are also a standard price. Can't tell you what it is because I have no idea what it takes to keep your doors swingin'. Boat registrations are a three tiered deal. Learned that one years back from Superfrog(Butch Anton) What it...
  7. Wow Roland Cleaner Went Up In Price!

I use straight butyl carb on my Roland.(one part of artbots recipe) 50 or 60 bucks a gallon IIRC. Great for removing ink drops/head strikes from banners too. Roland cleaning solution wouldn't even soften the ink. Makes ya wonder why you buy something to clean ink off your printer and it...
  8. Opinion on layout vs layout?

Top layout as eye's/brain are tuned to focus on biggest or brightest immediately. Product is your "hook" not text. Bottom layouts draw your eye to text first, product second.
  9. Summa pinch rollers

Anybody have an old Summa pinch roller laying around? Doesn't matter if the rubber is cracked or bearings seized.
  10. Vehicle Advertisement Extrusion

    We've used J-channel for mirrors.
  11. Vehicle lifts for wraps?

Check into a mid-rise lift. Would work a treat for wraps. Should be able to find them used. Buddy picked one up for a grand. http://www.bendpak.com/car-lifts/specialty-lifts/md-6xp.aspx
  12. Short term removable reflective?

Put down some removable vinyl then the reflective on top. When we use chrome on vehicles we always have a backer. For short term maybe something like Busmark might work.
  13. Good media for retractable banners

We use the no curl from Signworld. Works great and they're a merchant member.
  14. Is there such a thing as a frustration-free laminator?

RS-1650 here. After I learned how it likes to run I rarely have issues.
  15. Custom Vinyl Release Liner / Swapping Release Liner

Get material with blank liner then print it. I think this was discussed recently. You may want to do a forum search.
  16. Solvent Cleaner Solution

Nope. Straight butyl carb here. 50 or 60 bucks a gallon IIRC.
  17. (Manlift) To Buy or Not To Buy

For the rare occasion we've needed one we rent. Those towables are nice though. You can stuff them into spaces a truck will never go. They also don't tear up landscaping as much.
  18. Need Flexi Sign Program

Subscription service to anything is purely profit driven. Why sell them a set of disks they can use for many years when you can charge them every month and make far more profit? Prove me wrong. I'm sure you can do the math. What hacks me off about this whole subscription deal is the college...
  19. Best method?

If you have a laminator use that to apply the vinyl. A Big Squeegee would work a treat too. We've dry applied tons of vinyl with them.
  20. Band Poster

On the front burner with that one. :thumb:
