Dark films or dark graphics covering all or most of the glass cause heat gain issues with IG panels. Laminate is essentially clear. To be absolutely sure pay a window film professional to do the calcs.

Are you using a high tack transfer tape? We use medium tack on contour cut products.

iMacs are a stellar value when you consider the display you're getting.
