  2. I can't believe that ,,,!!??

Is there something different about those than my Mimaki? It may take me 2-3 mins MAX to remove an old roll and put a different one in it. I mean, if I swap it 5X a day, it's a little time, but not enough that I'd have issues with it. Are you talking a mega 10' wide printer or something?
  3. Walk-ins...

I've had "that guy" in my shop 10 times...but I never got the 17 wraps he promised.
  4. YESCO employee falls 100' off MGM sign...

    Woh, that's nuts.
  5. Walk-ins...

I tried the "by appointment only" deal, and everyone would freak out and wonder why they had to schedule an appointment when I was right inside the door. I just decided to raise my minimum, and raise my maximum for the jobs I really didn't want. I still waste a lot of time it seems, but not to...
  6. Reception Desk Area?

I had thought about taking lots of designs/photos of all of the work we've done, and put together our best work and just have a big collage on the wall and print it on PhotoTex. I don't have a massive showroom, and apparently I can't get people to go to our website cause half my customers that...
  7. thinking of selling business

When I was sick of it and wanting out, everyone said "Make sure you are on top, and not just getting out because stuff is getting rough." When I wanted out, I was at the bottom, barely surviving. I raised prices, worked less, made more, got rid of the bottom feeders, and now I'm enjoying it...
  8. how do you handle design fees

Most of my customers would poop if they saw a design charge on their invoices. I just build it into my price when I give them pricing, and say "that includes design, print, and finishing, out the door". If it's a big job that has lots of design, I kind of have to shoot from the hip, but so far...
  9. Just printed on Oracal 3105 (Motocross) now cutter won't read registration marks.

Ok, so I had 100 of these to do, and I worked on them 8 hours today, and knocked them out after lots of trial and error. From what I can tell, the thick laminate caused my print to not lay totally flat when the eye was trying to read the crop marks. It had nothing to do w/ the laminate being...
  10. Best Printer for MX Graphics

$2,500? Not happening. Sub it out, or go get a loan. If you DO buy something that's a "setup" in this budget...it will never work for you, and it will be broken more than it works. You'll miss deadlines, and be miserable. Just sub it out till you get enough money to do it right, or get a loan.
  11. Just printed on Oracal 3105 (Motocross) now cutter won't read registration marks.

It must have something to do with the thickness...because in 8+ years with this machine, it's never been an issue w/ gloss. Reflective and "mirror" images obviously give me trouble, but never a laminate. I cut other stuff all day long while I was trying to battle this nightmare. I finally got...
  12. Looking to get shirts printed.

Sure wouldn't look for "cheapest possible", but Dennis @ D&T Graphics does a good job. Merchant Member here.
  13. Just printed on Oracal 3105 (Motocross) now cutter won't read registration marks.

Ok, so APPARENTLY, a Mimaki cutter just TOTALLY hates the laminate on this stuff. I was able to peel it back enough to get it off the registration marks, and it seems to have worked. I'll just have to laminate differently. Just so anyone that uses this General Formulation stuff knows for...
  14. Just printed on Oracal 3105 (Motocross) now cutter won't read registration marks.

Here is what the crop marks look like. As you can tell, this first point it trys to find has now been pretty abused by trying to figure out what's going on here.
  15. Just printed on Oracal 3105 (Motocross) now cutter won't read registration marks.

Anyone delt with this? I have a bunch of graphics I'm printing for garbage cans, and I can't get my cutter (Mimaki CG-130FX) to read the marks for some reason. It's read everything else today that I've tried, but getting nothing with this. I've put scotch tape over the top of it, didn't help...
  16. Will PhotoTex stick to indoor painted block?

I have the local university that I'm printing some locker room graphics for. They asked for "Fathead" material to do this graphic, which I use PhotoTex for all the time and it's great. My question is...will it stick to painted inside block? I know it's only recommended for drywall, so I'm...
  17. classic car dealership and garage logo

    Love it.
  18. Banner, Vinyl, Fabric, or Mesh

Just got the email from Signs2Trade on smokin' pricing on 8oz mesh till the 27th. I'd have them print it if you're gonna sub it out.
  19. For one of the Disney resort stores.

That's awesome! Think we'll see a day in the next 10-15 years where you can do that kind of stuff with a 3D printer?
