Initially I'll be using Rasterlink to learn the machine but my production work I use Onyx. (I'm getting a UCJV330 and it's not on the list of supported printers yet but I'm sure it'll be very soon, I think someone said it's being tested currently) Hopefully when the new version of Onyx drops it...
I'm still thinking about getting some kind of color management when I get my Mimaki UV printer in. I've only minimally dealt with i1 Pro but that was in a sheet-fed offset environment and that was years ago and I've forgotten all the things I had to do with profiling so I'm pretty much starting...
It's a GFP laminator he said.
Looks like when I laminate with loose sheets of vinyl and laminate on my GFP 363. Tension isn't even and something seems like it's causing the laminate to go from high tension to less and back again.
I've never had this issue when laminating from a roll to a sheet...
Wow, that's taking advantage of a customer and to talk to you that way after purchasing equipment is definitely a sign of a distributor that doesn't care about it's customers. Whenever I see ink it's always the same price across the board. Ink is usually pretty tightly controlled for pricing as...
I have a similar issue with Illustrator and it does crash but it's when I have Photoshop open at the same time and happens when I'm not using either program, they just need to be open and something eventually triggers a crash. Haven't figured it out yet.
Yikes. This and the lack of knowledge of the machine from the salesman is what made me decide against getting a Roland UV machine. Hope for y'all sake they fix this issue soon.
I've had the off cutting issue several times. It randomly appears to happen and I haven't figured out why, but it only happens to me when I read a barcode from a sheet, it has never happened when cutting a roll. Usually I just turn the machine off and on again and it will cut fine. I'm not sure...
I have not worked with them before. My other machine I got through Grimco, but ITNH is fairly local to me (2.5hrs away) and they answered every question I had about the UCJV machines and gave me a good demo on the 300 version. So far everything has been pretty smooth, next will be delivery and...
Placed an order the the UCJV330-160 today. Hopefully I'll have this settled in a couple of months and can report back on the machine. Very excited to get this thing in here and start learning how to use it.
I appreciate everyone's input and feedback here to help give me food for thought.
Ahh yes I didn't think about that and with this machine being very new that may be an issue. Worst case scenario is I'll have to use Rasterlink for a while, not my idea setup but if it will get the job done.
Ahh good to know. I'm just waiting to hear back from them to find out how much it'll be for the upgrade, probably be the same as buying it new at this point since I'm on version 19.
I didn't know about advantage though and that may be a good option. I'm on Thrive now and would rather not...
I'm wondering if anyone here is using the Onyx subscription model. Also open to possibly another software like Flexi, which also offers a subscription model.
I'll be running a Epson solvent printer, a Mimaki UV roll-2-roll printer and one Graphtech cutter, possibly a Summa cutter but the Summa...
Now I see my quote it is setup for that CMYK CL CL W W setup. I'm still contemplating he 300 series but it's a new head and it's only about 30% faster than the 300. I guess any sped increase is a good one.
So I've been doing some digging and I think the UCJV330 model is using the Epson i3200 heads, hence the new ink delivery system and the 4pl droplet size, and moving away from the Ricoh Gen5 heads that are in the 300 version. If I had lots of volume I'd probably go for the 330 model but I think...
