  1. Roland GX-24 Camm-1

You may have the two rollers in the small roll slots. If so move the back roller back. In five years of cutting every day with the GX24 and CX300 I've never had a problem with a roll falling off. Or any other problem for that matter. Rolands nave been great machines.
  2. Right and wrong

Regarding "an extra set" (hate to waste vinyl) to him as a BONUS" given to the customer no charge: 95% of my installs are done at my cutomers locations and I cover a wide area. I usually cut an extra set to save me from having to come all the way back if I have a problem. Like you I used to...

  4. removing old vinyl?

Rapid Remove works great on the glue. Wallpaper steamer, heat gum, heat lamp, all will do the job. Getting the right temperature is the key. Too cool won't come up, too hot mushy mess that could stain the finish. Patience, paid by the hour is the only thing that works.
  5. Help thief!!!!!

Want to do yourself a big favor? Get over the loss. He screwed you. Someday, somehow you will come back to haunt him. You will spent another $10K chasing a person who can't and won't ever reimburse you, even with the law on his back. Spend your time and effort to build your business and a...
  6. Is this anyway to treat a business friend?

If he sent the referral because you did good work for him, give him a bone. If he sent a referral to you because he wanted something for nothing, give him "THE" bone. It's a "quid-pro-quo" world. Times are tuff. I always want to help out a friend or customer by helping make their business...
  7. Before & After on myself.

I really love the "afternoon" shadow - so realistic. Nice job Jill.
  8. Random thoughts for a kinder, gentler S101

Good post Dan. Some people just don't understand common civility and good manners, have forgotten the road they traveled to achieve their success or how important it is to help mentor those that seek help. Signs 101 and the many participants here have been a huge help to me. The business...

  10. Removal 4 yr old Oracal

Wallpaper steamer, heat lamp tree, inch by inch. Finding the right temperature and keeping it ahead of you as you peel is the trick. Rapid Remove for the residue glue. Good luck.

  12. Vinyl Lettering Coming Off

My best guess is that the tanker was not cleaned properly. I seen installers try to wash to large an area with to few wipers. I always clean a small area, 3 or 4 square feet, with Rapid Prep changing the paper towels frequently. After cleaning the entire tanker you should clean it again...

  17. Business Structure for Sign Shop

If you are not incorporated as a "C" corp or "LLC" and you are working alone you would probably register as a sole proprietor.
  18. Free Designs

"ESNDC also uses financial incentives and free design help to persuade building owners to upgrade their facades." Looks like help with designing facades not signage. Signage will be a part of any facade of course, but it doesn't look like they are offering sign design services.
