You did mention space restraints a couple times, check specs/dimensions of any equipement your interested in. A 30" printer is not 30" overall. My 30" Roland SP-300V is approx 6' long and you need room around the machine for loading media, etc. And don't forget room for a laminator as well.

For all you step bit folks, what if the acrylic is thicker than each step on the bit? The step bit is no longer "the proper tool" nor was it to begin with, the acrylic drill bit is "the proper tool" for drilling holes in acrylic, it even says it in the name.

I use acrylic drill bits for drilling acrylic or polycarbonate.

You can buy the heating strips from Tap Plastics. Intended use is for acrylic but Im sure it would work with PVC as well.

Nope, only started recently. Dampers look OK, don't know about checking the head rank, guess it's time to get the tech out here to go through this thing completely, probably time for that cyan/blk print head it's needed for years.

Test print looks fine except for the black, black has had deflected nozzles forever.

Roland SP-300V, light use, eight years old, no service except for when the pump was replaced at one year old, maintence - regular head cleaning, wiper and captop replacements.

If this is not a static issue is it definetly the print head being bad or is it possibly some type of calibration? It appears to primarily occur in the head travel direction and not the feed direction. It used to be really bad, spraying everywhere on the vinyl before and after the image, even...
