  2. wrap printing pricing

    Ditto.
  3. real estate riders!!

That sounds good and all in theory but if you're priced at 10 times the fair market price you're not going to sell any which means the 10 @ $1.00 people are actually making more money. We sell 6"x18" rider signs, double sided, bonded on the ends to use with a wooden post, for $6.50 each in...

Come on Dan , stop telling people that.
  5. Craftsman or Ryobi

I have the Ryobi saw. Let me tell you, I have abuse the snot out of that thing. It's been dropped (and dropped, and dropped), left out in the rain a couple of times, and NEVER been oiled. It still works like it was brand new. My only compaint is that the 45 degree lockdown is a about half a...

  8. Looking for business checks

I'd suggest getting a sample first if you can. We ordered 1000 checks a couple of months ago and what we got was really flimsy and cheap feeling. The weight was the same as our previous checks, just a completely different feel. It bothered me to the point where I shredded them and ordered new...
  9. Construction Site Sign Fastest Method?

I agree, since you're covering the whole thing with a print use the coro. If you want to get real fancy use the edge banding. Ignore Bob, his hemorrhoids are apparently flared up again today....it pleases me to post that.
  10. Construction Site Sign Fastest Method?

Man, I've seriously got at least 150 of the MDO signs (single and double sided) up around town. I do project signs for several banks and construction companies that way and most of my real estate signs are done like that. Using the coro I've got 20 or so around, some as old as five years old...
  11. Construction Site Sign Fastest Method?

Why frame it? Two posts, two pieces of 1/2" MDO, and two digital prints. Dig your holes, set your posts, install a sign on each side, go get a check. It'll last five years or better. Of you can use 10ml coro, just run three 2"x4"s between the posts. I would suggest against using the metal...
  12. Starting a new business

So you're going to either throw $15,000 at used equipment or $30,000 at new equipment...with no layout skills (using a friend), no experience, and no client base (part-time gig) just so you can "be the guy with the printer"? Why won't people listen?
  13. Starting a new business

Don't fall into the trap of thinking you have to have your own printer. If you (and most other people here) do the math on it honestly you've got to do an awful lot of printing before you actually make more than you will be subbing it out. Also, learn to write a complete sentence.
  14. Polyethylene Sign Blanks

We ran into the same problem trying to find poly blanks last summer. We found these through Google http://www.signsdirect.com/Home/Polyethylene-sign-blanks but ended up using PVC in the end.

Jon, nice stuff at that second link.....and look what I found in the "Interior Decorating" tab: Time to rethink this whole idea, methinks.
  16. Critique time....

Wouldn't surprise me. The sketch she brought me looks traced, not drawn.
  17. Critique time....

Actually she's pretty damn hot in real life. I didn't like the paint drips or the ladder but she's insisted on them. She's paying for it so I tried to make it work. I just don't get how dripping paint presents a professional image but I'm just the sign monkey.
  18. Critique time....

Lady is starting an interior decorating business. Her "trademark" will be the bright pink overalls she's going to wear My instructions were to create a woman painter on a step ladder wearing pink overalls with the company name and tag line. Here is the "artwork" I had to work from and the...

  20. Good starter vinyl application kit?

I say the guy gets whatever help he needs, we might even need to chip in and buy him a startup kit for what he's done... FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER OP USED THE QUOTE BUTTON CORRECTLY! Even more than correctly, he actually added colored responses to specific points, and made clear, concise...
