  5. Arlon discontinuing 15"

Just discovered Arlon dropped 15" punched material. We used a lot with our Edge. Their gold metallic was especially nice, brighter than 3M. It sucks when you spend 20+ years with a product, build repeat business with it and it gets dumped. Not the first time and won't be the last but its a PITA...

We do it with a Gerber Edge.
  7. Okay, what's it gonna take to..............................................

Yea, it seems like 90% of the posts are printer/software or how to do something cheaper.
  8. small laminator for a gerber?

Why are you laminating? We use liquid laminate on our edge prints, used to be Frog Juice, now mostly Clearshield. When we do signgold vehicle lettering we apply the clear vinyl after installation. Occasionally we have to do a double layer and just apply by hand, but a cheap little laminator...
  9. Retrofit Polycarbonate faced sign to flex face

I think by the time you go through all the research, work, materials and time involved in the retrofit it will be about the same as new pan faces.

Mist the area with water to keep contaminants from getting airborne
  11. crazy question

I remember when we were building our own fonts the designer made sure to work in alphabetical order because the plotter would cut in order of creation. Same with tracing designs. My plotter has a "sequence" plot selection which cuts everything in order . Saves a lot of wear and tear on the...
  12. At A Crossroad, To Keep Going or Call It A Day?

  16. What kind of material is this sign board?

There was a composite panel that used a wood core, never tried it myself. If the edge doesn't matter you could use alumalite(coro core)
  17. Glueing acrylic letters to wood

I have a top notch graffiti artist working here and we have done more that a few projects with the despised rattle cans. A lot of times Montana or other high end brands. I also found a place in New Jersey that will color match anything and put it in a rattle can. Used those for an exterior...
  18. Need a new aqueous printer. Should I make the move from Epson to Canon?

I've been using HP aqueous for many many years. Right now have a Designjet z6200 and a 6610. They are workhorses, easy to maintain. Printheads swap out easily and the ink is reasonable, plus there are aftermarket inks available. We mostly do cheap paper posters on them but I have done...
  19. Glueing acrylic letters to wood

On a less than perfect surface I'd use cheap foam tape & lexel
  20. Question Going rate on color change wrap

We get guys asking about color change wraps for commercial vehicles expecting it to be cheaper than a paint job. I had one client that was stuck and I looked into doing it, found ads for places doing color change for $2100. How the he;l they can make any money I don't know. One client had his...
