  1. Simple sans serif.....

Thanks to both of you. I had looked at both those fonts but not those particular variants
  2. Simple sans serif.....

or so I thought. None of the identifiers came up with this one. Thanks to anyone who can help
  3. Question how do you store substrates?

We have them stored everyway you can think of. Coro and pvc on flat racks since it will bend. We have an old home depot type vertical rack on wheels that gets acm, plastics, thick pvc. A lot of stuff never gets past leaning on the wall after unloading since it goes right into production. And...
  4. Magnetic Panels

Yes, we use the steel ACM often. It cuts and shears fine. Haven't routed but assume it would be fine.
  5. MDO alternative

I don't trust luster board, had some failures. We've used the ones with coro cores but it's a pin to fill the edges to make it look smooth
  6. MDO alternative

10mm ACM? That's plenty sturdy. But I miss signs that were 3/4" + thick. Especially if it's a hanging sign or between posts. That chunky profile looks good. That's why i was thinking 1/2" or even 3/4" PVC with dibond faces would be nice. I'm surprised someone isn't making something like that, at...
  7. MDO alternative

That makes sense, I've used the 3M to bond metal laminate to pvc or gator, but those were interior jobs.
  8. MDO alternative

I was thinking about the thread asking about finishing MDO and the general consensus was to use something else. For square/rectangle shapes there are lots of alternatives, but when a sign has to have a custom shape it's not as easy. The problem I have is that for larger signs, ACM is too thin...
  9. Needing white clouds printed on clear vinyl

Wyld Graphics https://wyldgfi.com/ They did a print with white on clear for me last year
  10. Magnetic Panels

I'd start with real magnetic board and print the the overlay with steel finish and graphics. There's probably a brush stainless fill out there that would work. Every layer of vinyl reduces the magnetic pull
  11. MDO Life Expectancy

Like I mentioned, sometimes we bond two sheets of 6mm, great if you need a white or black background. Or we paint with two part auto paint, or sheet with vinyl. For smaller signs I'll use 1/2", 3/4" or even 1" PVC. But pvc has it's own issues. Have to evaluate the job and pick whatever works...
  12. MDO Life Expectancy

We used to make tons of shaped MDO signs. Used exterior patch to fill holes, one thin coat of oil based primer on the edge, then prime the whole thing. Two coats good oil base paint. We found the quality of mdo has gone down but still use it occasionally. We have also bonded two layers of 6mm...
  13. Fixed mounting on overhead curved iron

I agree with Brad, nothing wrong with swinging signs, but they need to have some weight and little to no chain. If they need some length I use a solid steel strap instead of chain. You could bolt a sign hanger thru the straight bottom piece, and thru the mdo and use steel strap to connect. If...
  14. Good source for large work tables?

We made ours. For a couple we bought a frame system, maybe from Grainger. Just make sure to get beefy locking wheels
  15. How Is This Decal Made And Installed?

Never seen it done that way, I think you're being asked to replicate a piece of cr*p. That first one looks like cut vinyl letters on a vinyl background with another layer of thick clear over it, makes no sense. The right way would be a full print with laminate. The particular vinyl/laminate...
  16. Question How to make a sale?

Find business that need their sign refurbished, go in with a card and a smile and offer to give them a free quote if they ever want to refresh their sign
  17. Method to back-chain a-frame sidewalk sign for wind?

We stopped making our own a while ago. When I did I would sometimes make a plywood flap that locked into a piece on the other side.
  18. Mildew/grime inside lit channel letters

You can install in winter. New trimcap is way more resilient than old letters. Keep the letters in a warm spot till right before you install
  19. Today's headache

Thanks Mr Rex & Merry Christmas!
  20. Today's headache

Another that I swore I knew and had...but no luck. Identifiers aren't working with it. Any ideas? thanks & Merry Christmas
