  1. Wrap copying?

Attaway Scott! I'm right there with you. Four weeks ago I had quoted lettering on four sides of four cargo trailers for a national firm. They also wanted pricing on doing the roofs. Trailers were of misc. size so it took a bit of figuring. After their office received my quote they emailed...
  2. Average Square foot pricing for vehicle wraps

There is very little about a custom wrap that relates to what Walmart charges for a 50 foot garden hose. The bad advice dispensed above will not help earnest forum members here define what they need to charge for a vehicle wrap. I've said it before and I'll repeat myself. On one of our main...
  3. Two Scenarios - How To Price?

Sometimes on small jobs we say to the client, "yes, we can send someone out, but would you like to save some money?" (that plants the seed) They usually say "yes!". Then I tell them, hey grab your phone, take a picture of the window, the wall, or whatever and send it to me. A trip may still...
  4. Need new name for whole seller

    We use them. b3Digigraphx.com
  5. How do you deal with the badges on the front and rear of a vehicle

We ask first. Then remove. We've never re-applied manufacturer's badging over top of a wrap. We put them in clear baggies with zip tops and place them on the passenger seat, where the client will see them.
  6. Service tech just left....

We just had service from Pacific Coast Sign Supply (Portland Oregon). They sent up Richard, one of their two service tech's and he did a beautiful job of getting our aging Roland up and running again. He is quick, personable and very competent. Was able to diagnose a blown fuse on the mother...
  7. No magenta ink after new cartridge installed

Here's a follow up. Talked to a Roland Tech. They're sending out some caps for the ink station. We sort of deduced that as the culprit after some discussion. The parts should arrive tomorrow. I'll try and post the outcome for anyone that may be interested or have a similar problem.
  8. No magenta ink after new cartridge installed

Do you mean where you insert the cartridge?
  9. No magenta ink after new cartridge installed

Roland machine beeped. Out of magenta. Replace cartridge and go on about my work. Look over 5 minutes later and the machine is not printing magenta. Shut everthing down. Checked cartridge again, seems fine. Tried pulling ink through rubber lines where they "Y" off as I've done before. Twenty...
  10. 3M Material (Need advice/Alternative)

We've wrapped some laptops (which I gotta believe is similar to your project needs) with 3-M IJ180 V-3 after laminating with Gamut Skin from Fellers. Worked out well.
  11. Stolen Bike Registry?

Dumb question maybe, but why stick your nose in his business?
  12. Almost makes me ill

Let those little five year old girls be plain old littlel girls. Play in the yard, jump in puddles, play with dolls or whatever. Dumb moms should find another hobby and not indulge their little girls in this. Just my .02.
  13. Novarese

If I'm not mistaken, Novarese was a part of the early font libraries Gerber supplied with their software Graphics Advantage, now legacy I'm afraid.
  14. Vinyl shrinkage and crop mark detection.

Bob: I think the OP is using Roland equipment which is both printer and cutter. OP: When we get these same types of messages on our SP-540 Roland, it almost always is because the tiny little hairwidth arrows are too close to a large block of color. ie: the eye 'sensor' gets confused and is...
  15. Please help me!

Lazer, some of the industry magazines have an annual issue with pricing schemes in there. The one I've seen most recently has you first calculate what hourly rate will cover your overhead. Will it be $40.00 per hour, $50, 60, 70 or even $80 bucks an hour? You decide with the help from the...
  16. War on Drugs!

    good one
  17. Whose wrap templates are you using?

We do like Flame. Shoot the vehicle with decent camera, and measure and adjust as necessary. Turn opacity to 65% or so and work all layers with photo of vehicle on the top layer. Also, double and triple check all measurements.
  18. Naming and shaming

Hmmmm...that's good question. And why only the Cyan inks as the supposedly defective product? Not any of the other 5 colors? Not minimizing your story, the stress level and ultimately that enormous parts bill you've edured. But I suppose the company is not going to own up and admit it's...
  19. Unpaid invoices?

    Hmmmm....are you sure?
  20. Customer workorder/contact information

Research this thread. I know that a couple three years back I posted a fairly lengthy reply to this very request.
