  5. Cutting issues with Graphtec FC8000

hey, this may sound dumb Q but let me ask you something about this "finding the mark business" . my machine (rebranded graphtec 7000 from SW) has no trouble getting to the mark, but it's a one at a time deal. It goes to the sensor, i fine tune it and hit ok, and it goes to the next one, i fine...

  7. capping station replaced, poor k printing

no, no damage to head. swapped out damper, suctioned ink, ran cleaning cycle and printed two nice nozzle checks. i will let it sit awhile now and see what happens. Also, i must have knocked out the head alignment, black box in nozzle check is now slightly askew. Need to address that next.
  8. capping station replaced, poor k printing

OK, i'll swap out the damper just to rule it out. Dont you find the ink spitting to be alarming? I never had that previously.
  9. capping station replaced, poor k printing

thanks bobby - Heads were uncapped for an hour or so. Yes, good ink flow to tank during clean cycle. Intially after replacement, the black cap would not spring into position correctly. This fixed itself with a dozen or so cycles as it "broke in." I manually moved the head back and forth into...
  10. Van - Before & After

that's certainly a nice improvement. the door is crooked though LOL. Would the customer mind if you removed those badges on the rear doors. sheesh . They're just foam taped in place from the factory.
  11. capping station replaced, poor k printing

Anyone got a clue here - I replaced the pump and capping station. the pump hose routings were just a very little bit different coming out of the pump- but basically the same. 2 shorts, 2 longs. Color head prints fine, black head prints inconsistent and problematic. couple clean cycles makes it...
  12. Window perf problems..

hard to say without seeing what exactly you were doing, but here's an old auto painter's trick for working with the rubber seals. if you jamb a length of rope, 3/16 nylon or something like that , under the perimiter, it will raise the seal edge up enough that you can tuck your print under...

  15. alcohol cleaning????

Artbot, what is butyl cellosolve, or probably more important, where can i buy it? It's not like you go down to the corner RX and buy that stuff, right? i just checked - wikipedia describes it as a primary ingredient in windex and simple green. interesting!
  16. Banner weights

PS. 13 oz will be okay short term, but heavier would be a better choice. if it's a two sided banner go with block out.
  17. Banner weights

that's a long banner. better go with the rope for support, unless you're hanging it indoors. reinforce your corners with an extra layer of banner material - fit a 3" triangle into each corner under your hem and then grommet it.
  18. exchange my window tint knowledge for your sign busines knowledge

this is absolutely a fair deal. if you are near this guy it might even make sense to send your employee over to learn tinting. there's extra money on the table there especially with flat glass. if you can tint a car window flat glass is gravy. so, watchdaride, what makes you want to be a...
