That's what the test print button is for. It print's all of the nozzles and you can see if any are missing just by looking at it. Some people do run a print that you are describing when they aren't using the printer much so that the nozzles fire once in a while and don't clog. but other than...
I didn't think you could design files in Onyx and thought it was just a RIP but maybe I am wrong. Most people do that in their design software not the RIP.
I hope this doesn't come off the wrong way but I am genuinely curious. The copyright of the user's manual is 1995. That means that model is at least 23 years old. How long would a company have to support a machine for you to consider it reasonable and gain your trust?
There are little floats that float in the sub tank as the ink goes up and down and they have little metal tabs on each end. The sub tank sensor uses 3 little magnets to read where the float is through the plastic casing since the sensors are on the outside of the sub tank. If the sensor becomes...
I'm late to the party but I just had a similar issue with a JFX200 which uses the same print head system. It ended up being the customer used a magnetized screw driver while working on the machine and magnetized the sub tank sensor. This made the machine think it was overflowing on those...
It could be a simple as a profile issues as well. The other shop always prints on his vinyl and dialed it in throughout the years. If he has never used the Oracal product, he has had no time to dial in the settings.
You have an electrical short somewhere. I would turn off the printer, unplug it, hit the power button a couple times and wait 15 minutes. Then take all of the head cables out, air dust the terminals, clean the terminals with 90% alcohol, let dry and then air dust again. Then re-install the...
I'm sure there is but I am not aware of it. A lot of people will have a separate RIP computer right by the printer and just send the file via a shared folder. The only thing is that you have to be in the room to send the job.
That machine only supports 100mbs so you have more than enough speed. The only thing I would worry about it corruption. If even a little bit of corruption or packet loss occurs it could mess up the entire print especially on longer prints. Doesn't hurt to try though.
Whenever I hear that a printer never ran properly out of the box I always assume the person who installed it didn't do any of the alignments and just started printing out of the box. On the CJV150, if you do the alignments properly, you should get very high quality prints. These printers are not...
Perf Cut might be what you are looking for. With the Perf cut feature on your Roland you can kiss cut the stickers and then perf cut the outer border. This will essentially cut out the A4 size page from the roll. That way you can just hand your client a sheet with cut stickers on it. You could...
Yeah that extra $3000 gets you 10 more inches, a stand, and a take-up reel. The BN-20 is good for what you are doing and will take up less space for sure so in a way it is more efficient. You will have a much easier time finding 30" material however.
Something is definitely wrong above the head. I would check the ink cartridge to see if there is any ink in there. Sometimes the cartridge won't flag the machine as empty and it will cause an issue similar to this. After that, I would start to suspect a bad valve possible behind the ink cartridges.
It sounds like you need to figure out if it's just clogged or there is a flow issue. Try swapping the left magenta with the cyan damper next to it. If cyan starts to print where the magenta should, the problem is above the head. If the magenta starts to print in the cyan area, you can rule out...
