  1. Need Help EO74 ERR CR2 CURRENT

When and where does the error pop up? Right when the machine turns on or during a print? This error can be many things but usually has something to do with the encoder strip and sensor or the head being physically stopped from moving properly.
  2. Gen5 Printhead Preservation

You want to flush it and then flush out the solution with air. Leaving the solution in can cause damage over time.
  3. Graphtec plotter cutting bad, almost like the resolution is off.

Check the pulley that the motor drives to move the carriage back and forth. Older Graphtecs had pulleys that would break over time and cause a similar issue. Maybe that's the case on the new ones as well.
  4. Rasterlink6 getting wrong cut order with sort function

That's a good question. I don't have a copy to play around with right now but I would be willing to bet you need to make sure sort is on for the perf cut and the kiss cut. Go into the cut settings in Rasterlink and you should see two spot colors, one is CutContour and one is PerfCut. Highlight...
  5. Colors Blah??

It looks like you need to run the head alignments.
  6. First time buyer questions - looking at Mimaki JV150-160

    1) Depends on where you are located. All Mimaki dealers are required to install the machine and train the end user or hire Mimaki to do it for them. You want to go to a dealer that has a tech on staff. If you are in the Colorado area check out Signage Specialist (Disclaimer: That is out parent...
  7. Service Calls

Most fixes on these printers can be done by end users but I will add that when I go out on service calls it's for 2 reasons. 1. the person just doesn't feel comfortable doing the repair and 2. they think they could do it but they want to make sure it gets done right. I'm not a full time field...
  8. CG-130SRIII pressure issues

Make sure the black ring around the blade holder is under the tightening mechanism. It's a common first time user mistake. If the ring isn't under, the blade holder just starts to slip a little each time and will require more pressure.
  9. Dryer

Why do you need a dryer? Are you not using solvent inks?
  10. Hp315 or Roland vp540

Solvent based machines were the main type of sign making printers for about a decade and are still about 45% of the market today. The technology that is taking over is the Latex and to some extent, UV inks but that is more in the flatbed market. I almost completely specialize in solvent printers...
  11. Need Help weird cut on Mimaki cjv 150-130

I prefer creating a spot color called "CutContour" and making my cut line that color. Then you can save the file as a PDF or EPS and open it in Rasterlink directly just like with Rolands and Versaworks.
  12. FlexiSign Pro Gradients

In your color profile settings it should be under color mode. Some profiles may not have that option.
  13. FlexiSign Pro Gradients

I have always heard Flexi's gradients don't look so hot. Is that the only design software you can use? Also, look in your color profile and printer settings and make sure you are set to 16bit rendering. 8bit will always look segmented.
  14. Need Help Siser Colorprint HP Latex GRAINY half way through print...help needed

The fact that it changed in the middle of a print tells me media issue. Unless the heater failed during the print or the ink changed to a different type half way through, it has to be a defective media issue especially if it is happening towards the end of the roll.
  15. Flexi To Mutoh

Check your default settings and make sure under the, "Workflow", tab you choose, "Hold", instead of "Delete" after print. That will make it so if you bring a file into the production manager directly, it will always hold until you delete it. You have to set this up for both printers individually.
  16. RIP Files to a SSD drive or mechanical type?

SSD will always be faster than HDD and should RIP much faster. More RAM helps with bigger files and the faster the processor the better. I am still wondering why RIP companies haven't added GPU support. The type of calculations the RIP does is perfectly suited for GPU processing and it could...
  17. JV33-160 ERROR 07

Error 07 means the head is overheating. If there is no ink in the head, it can cause that issue for sure but first check the head cables for damage or dirtiness. If they are damaged or dirty, replace them and the make sure ink is in the dampers and run a cleaning cycle. This should get ink into...
  18. CF2 Series flat be

Got it. Contact your nearest Mimaki dealer and they can get you the software but you will have to pay. Also, there are 3rd party softwares like Flexi, Wasatch, Onyx and more that can run that machine.
  19. CF2 Series flat be

What did the seller use? It should have come with software.
  20. Printer- Resolution- Profile or Ink? Pics attached

That is the quality you would expect from such a machine. The heads are 4 generations back from current technology so any print you get from a current shop is going to look better than what you can make.
