I remember the job but not the client. I did a little smalt sign at the same time as a gift for my girlfriends parents B&B (used one of Clyde's blanks) , same result. I painted it with black one shot to rescue it.
When I worked in New Hampshire we did tons of signs for all kinds of points of view...but my boss always made sure they were paid before they left the shop. He said all politicians are crooks and if they lost you never got paid.
We've done them in sections on 1"x1" aluminum tube frame (with the corners & Ts that screw or pop rivet). For getting it on the building it can be assembled on site and lifted in one piece
or installed in sections. Depending on the design it may require some "touch-up" if graphics don't align...
You can search on here for this subject and you will see tons of different suggestions. We will only do removal on a time basis and decide the method once we start working on it. The method varies depending on how it comes off. But mostly I tell the client to get it done at a body or detail shop...

I can't find the name right now, but I got some weathered finish architectural panels for a sign background. They had a lot of different finishes. I found them searching architectural panels
We use the R Tape FX (but now I think it's owned by someone else). We apply clear over it with a little trap. Holds up OK. But the client always gets my standard spiel, "It's hard to read, doesn't last, scratches easy.."
