I agree with Fred, it is hard to classify some type, (and I made that statement about contemporary and traditional type)The main types are broken up into subtypes and broken down even further, his suggestion is great, getting a feel of type through type houses like Adobe, Agfa, ITC, House, Font...

I marked Sign Company, but I think it's both. Ultimatly it's the sign person who shouldn't sell out though.....

Hey Spirit Welcome to Signs 101 and the business. On the weeding issue, I always cut a box around the graphic, that way I at least know where to start. On Corel, try asking the question on the Corel discussion here, I'm sure you will get an answer.

I use Tekton but the Regular, not the bold, for all my drafting notes. I don't think I have ever used it on a sign. I have used Comic Sans for some kiddy banner, it worked for what I needed it it for, but don't know if I'll ever use it again.....(at least I hope not)

House Industries and Havana Street have cool Horror Fonts as well, I've use them on little signs within a ride, but that was it. Like the Gerber script font, but since I am on a Mac, I never get to use mine :(

Since I mostly design I try too get my hourly rate. It ends up being a flat rate, based on amount of hours. I don't tier price when I make a sign, I do with design, depending on if it's a logo, which is worth more, compred to a banner layout, which is not really design. Rick
