  1. Hi to all from italy

    :Welcome: from Wisconsin.
  2. Issue in Illustrator

Never think you skimped by getting a Mac Mini. That being said; My 2005 iMac was having difficulty saving/processing large files, but I knew why. The internal hard drive was going on permanent vacation. Replaced it last weekend and it's blazin' again. You will need to go into Disk Utility...
  3. Well, Reading made the news again......................

So what you're saying it was OK for those two model citizens to put on masks and point guns at an innocent store owner. Gotcha. And it wasn't smokes and lottery tickets. One of the guys was a drug addict and was behind on his child support payments. Instead of trying to get cleaned up and...
  4. there are pics

Here is a factoid regarding 3D printing. They are dead slow. While in college I worked on a prototype of a football helmet. It was roughly 1/2 scale. In MSOE's SLA it took 24 hours to "print" the helmet and another 12 hours for the face mask portion. I'm not denying how capable they are or...
  5. UJF-3042FX UV unit overheat problem and water lack problem

Glad to hear things are working. And you are right about the KISS method. Always check the simple stuff first.
  6. Customer buys printer

I laminate for another shop. Also do some of their print work too. Long story and we're under contract so I can't talk about details. Suffice to say I will laminate/print all day and all night for these guys. They are in a totally different realm of signage anyway. We make good coin on...
  7. UJF-3042FX UV unit overheat problem and water lack problem

No experience with your machine although I spent 26 years building industrial paper machinery. Check the pump for output first. Then check the sensors within the cooling loop. Simple fix is either a pump or sensor(s). Whole new issue if there is a driver board controlling function. Other...
  8. Gas below $3 per gallon in New Jersey, how about by you...

IMHO Oil companies see a cash cow with diesel. Think about this for a minute. Class 8 trucks on average have a 300 gallon capacity. Combine that with roughly 6 miles per gallon multiplied by all the big rigs on the road today. See where I'm goin' with this?
  9. Looking for reasonably priced cap tops.

    We get parts from: solventinkonline.com
  10. Cleaning fluid question.

No worries artbot. Retail is $58. I get WD pricing through my business account. I know what you're saying though. Almost tipped over when they said 23 bucks.
  11. Gas below $3 per gallon in New Jersey, how about by you...

I need someone to explain why diesel only dropped a nickel while gas dropped 67 cents. I's like to see diesel drop as absolutely everything we use is transported by diesel power. Fifty or sixty cents a gallon on a 300 gallon fill up is a good chunk of change.
  12. Cleaning fluid question.

Through my S-W account I get butyl-carbitol for 23 bucks a gallon. For well over a year we've been using it straight up to clean. We clean waaay more now(many times per week) since it's so cheap to do so. Our printer sparkles. It also cleans ink drops off banners like it was never...
  13. XJ 640 print head movement.

THIS^^^^ Only reason it defaults to full scan is to give the ink more time to dry. Not sure if the new inks need it or not?
  14. Couple jobs from this week.

Wow. I am in the presence of greatness. :thumb:
  15. Material choice for window stickers?

We use a Kapco laminate(gloss) that is 3.7mils over 4mil calendared for industrial labels. Fairly rigid combo and looks great. Kapco was the only maufacturer that gave me the chemical resistance to meet spec. It was fun talking to the other mfg's as they were stumped. Most responses were...
  16. HOT ROD Magazine cover/feature cars

Would have loved to have been there. Too cool.
  17. lexus ls-430

This is what we do: Step 1) Find pics on the web or take our own at a car lot. Step 2) Go the mfg's. web site and get a couple critical dimensions. We use wheel diameter, wheelbase, overall length, overall height etc... Step 3) Bring into Ai and scale to one of the dimensions. Step 4) Double...
