  1. HP26500 - warrior media jam, advice?

Fairly simple, given my process of labeling/bagging/organizing everything along the way. The service manual was pretty good about breaking the machine-down into chapters, each chapter having it's own ordered steps of parts requiring removal: covers, panels, display, service station, scan motor...
  2. HP26500 - warrior media jam, advice?

yeah I do that too. this mess came during the process of scanning the media and all the forward-back motions involved.
  3. HP26500 - warrior media jam, advice?

found the gremlin, and am currently throttling its neck! tore up the machine a bit to get the "Center Guide" out & cleaned-up, along with the Media Sensor who's lever was stuck in the "ON" (or media-in) position thanks to the vinyl plastered all-over it. now for the fun-part. ....putting it...
  4. HP26500 - warrior media jam, advice?

$350 to simply show-up and +$700 just to get them in before the 4th of July.... and $175/hr after that. guess that means I'm putting on my service-tech pants and gettin' it done myself! :supersmilie:wish me luck!
  5. JV3 parts

Main Board, Slider Board, & Y-Axis motor themselves can fetch you upwards of $1200 on their own. not to mention other misc. parts, but those seem to be the most commonly in-demand.
  6. Magnum magnets flying off vehicles

sell your client a few neodynium magnets to drop-onto her magnets and they'll never go anywhere without the car. still, most likely a contaminated magnet that is "flying off" the vehicle. had my Magnum magnetic logos on my car for nearly an entire winter without issue. its only when I would...
  7. HP26500 - warrior media jam, advice?

thanks guys! yeah, this is beyond simply pulling vinyl out of the machine anymore... it is applied & torn/webbed all over the media feed channel/intake-tray and most likely applied over the top of whatever sensor that detects media as you feed it in. taking it apart wouldn't be the worth thing...
  8. HP26500 - warrior media jam, advice?

awesome, managed to get most of it out but there's definitely a chunk still stuck to the backside of the loading-side and my fingers are too fat to get in and peel it out. ...which is why I'm still getting errors from the machine telling me that the media is loaded incorrectly... without any...
  9. Looking for Mimaki JV3 160SP Slider Board

did you try google? otherwise I have a completely working jv3 collecting dust that I'd be willing to sell :)
  10. Outdoor Wayfinding Sign Refinishing

dig out the ground around the base of the posts, and cut them down as low as you can afford to. take back to shop & work on them there, and develop a plan to re-secure the posts to their existing bases OR attach leg extensions and re-bury the sign 1-2" lower than original to hide your cut-lines.
  11. HP26500 - warrior media jam, advice?

always have an issue loading clear media. pinch rollers always find a way to catch the sticky-side and start peeling the material from the backing, which I've caught before & stopped the printer from loading. BUT this time, during the media feed calibration, vinyl got caught-up in the rollers &...
  12. how can i make this bigger and not look like crap?

he needs either a bigger truck :ROFLMAO: ...or a simplified logo for situations like these, such as: (rushed, but I'd proly shift the lettering a bit as to not split the centers of the top A)
  13. HDU Plaque Fail When Inset in Stone

+1 glue an .090-.125 alum backer to the panel to resist curling I use PB FastSet from Suncoast Industries, but Lord's or GorillaGlue would suffice. you can also throw some screws through the aluminum into the HDU from the backside, as it looks like you have a nice thick perimeter to bite-into...
  14. Material Buckling

tunneling/buckling issues have always been fixed on my 26500 by simply pre-feeding an extra foot or so... so that I may apply tension to the media as it comes out of the printer. once it is far-enough to be taped to your take-up, the weight of the media itself has always been enough to keep it...
  15. white in black background

+1 potentially bad media. if it is really old, it would definitely be this. buckling/tunneling of media during print will also cause variation of how the ink is laid-down.
  16. white in black background

your grubby fingers loading the material has contaminated the surface. ink doesn't stick to oil/grease. the speckles are most likely dirt/debris, that have fallen-off the material after printing, leaving the bare white spot in its place.
  17. What's going on over at Advantage?

three times in the past 6 months, they've dropped my net terms to Credit Card only when I hadn't placed an order for a month. without notice, as well. its just gone one day. each time I have to call to restore it, and the woman is never available when I call and have to wait nearly a week...
  18. Double sided decal without white ink.

just use your noodle. not that difficult... one-offs: -reverse-print on clear, regular print on white (must have white adhesive-side!). -laminate the white print -then use a light table or a sunny window to align white over clear, tape-hinge in place, then use laminator or a squeegee to apply...
  19. cheap exterior cast aluminum letter...filler?

spray foam was what I was thinking too, but boss thought it'd be too messy. gonna give it a shot tonight, is it possible to control the mess or just hope to minimize it?
  20. Shrinkage after Contour Cutting - Advice needed

if you're hellbent on assuming that calendared 3M vinyl, and economy house-brand calendared overlaminate is good enough for your prodouct.... maybe try dialing-down the tension on your laminate feed? if you stretch calendared vinyl even the slightest bit during lamination, it WILL shrink within...
