Nope, and not an answer I was prepared to respond to, all I could offer was "Ummm, not a lot." She responded with a laugh and said "That's what everybody says." and went back to talking about her order.
AHEM....GAME OVER, YOU ALL LOSE.
Me, to a customer who has been in several times: "I've got to ask, where do I know you from?"
Customer, rolling her eyes as her business partner walks out the door snickering: "Do you watch a lot of adult videos?"
Wish she would have given me a link or a...
2' deep works for us for our temporary real estate signs. If it's a permanent install I'd go 36" deep. 8' vinyl post sleeves from Home Depot run $35 each with decorative caps (you don't bury the sleeve, just the post).
Assuming your sign is a 4' x 8' you might want to look at something like...

Farm jack like Bob said will be well worth the $50. We were using the "t-post" puller kind for a while but we were destroying them in no time, they just weren't built heavy enough for pulling out deep set sign posts. The jack has lasted 3 years...
I was looking for something with a bit more "bulk" to it than a skinny t-post. Galvanized u-channel posts were never an option, we we talking about 6" diameter round posts. You find those for $36 I'll come get them.
I ended up stumbling across the perfect solution at Home Depot. They've...
I don't know....if it's anything like EVERY lakeside bar I've ever been in it fits the mold pretty well.
A couple of things stick out to me though. The blue and green waves don't work with the loose and jagged lettering. Second I think you need to work up a stacked version as well no matter...
