  1. What material for Posted Signs

That stuff is only rated for short term outdoor use. Ended up running off a sample for the customer on .024" aluminum like we would normally make them. He loved them, couldn't believe that they were as flexible as they were... So win win all around, his posted signs will easily last 10+ years...
  2. What material for Posted Signs

Doing a couple hundred, definitely don't want to use banner material and hem it. Too time consuming for our setup.
  3. What material for Posted Signs

Not looking to make aluminum ones, we've done .024" alum in the past, works great, but client isn't interested. They want thin flexible poster like signs, I'm thinking a rigid pvc film? Has anybody used this stuff before, ? Will it be good for outdoor use 3-5 year? Anybody have any...

    Perfect. Thank you.
  5. Font ID Please

    Close but it isn't aristocrat.
  6. Font ID Please

    Anybody know this font?
  7. Is Vanguard a good printer? Which model is recommended?

How is the ink adhesion with these printers printing directly to white aluminum, 040, 063, 080? And what is the expected outdoor life uncoated vs coated with something like urethane?
  8. UV printer coating uv prints

If applying film laminate to UV printed on white aluminum, is there adhesion issues? Do you need a thermal laminator or will top roller heat assist work?
  9. Did you file for PPP?

Anybody applying for the save small business grant? App went live at 3:00pm today and I can't get through the site to teh app. Any luck for anybody?
  10. Need Help Magnetic material heat settings for Roland SP

We just don't do contour cut magnets anymore. Only squares and rectangles and round the corners with a corner rounder. We used to cut them on a stand alone cutter, you don't have to cut them all the way through. Just score them and they pop out pretty easily. But your best bet if you have a...
  11. Did you file for PPP?

    Ah I see.
  12. Need Help Magnetic material heat settings for Roland SP

Do yourself a favor and print to vinyl and apply that to the magnet. Not worth the hassle and added wear to your machine trying to print on magnet. Yes it can be done, but just isn't worth it.
  13. Did you file for PPP?

If you submitted today, you're probably going to be waiting a bit as the funding has dried up.
  14. Router, laser, or waterjet?

Seems I'm circling back to a router as being the best method for cutting our aluminum signs. And since these will be routed with vinyl already applied to them, we are going to have a learning curve to figure our best way of doing this. Some say vinyl face down, some say face up with oil...
  15. Did you file for PPP?

It all depends how fast your bank processes your application. I submitted at 9:30am on 4/3 with a smaller regional bank. They must be slow at processing. Finally earlier today I was informed that I was "one of the lucky ones" who got approved before the funds ran out... And that I should...
  16. Router, laser, or waterjet?

A few heavy hitters make up the bulk, think manufacturing companies whose products require safety and/or warning signs. And we are also exploring some new to us markets, which I will keep to myself for now. Nothing world shattering though.
  17. Router, laser, or waterjet?

I agree cutting blanks first just doesn't make any sense, unless you run them through a flatbed or screenprint. I don't want to go down the screen print road, and uv inks on aluminum won't hold up as well as printed vinyl unless you spray them with urethane. We do the same for cut marks, but...
  18. Router, laser, or waterjet?

I've looked at the roper whitneys. Which do you have, an electric one? Wondering how you would compare to a hand operated one if you've used both styles.
  19. Router, laser, or waterjet?

Been looking into lasers a bit, but I have to imagine the laser would leave a "burnt" edge if cutting aluminum with vinyl already applied to it?
