Pretty broad question. Sure to spark the Roland vs. Mimaki vs. (fill in the blank) debate.
Any solvent printer will do the job. Find one that offers the options you want int he price range you want. Inquire around about reliable dealers, too.
We use Roland, btw.
Free to a good home. Must pick up. Probably every issue there. Need to make room for some exciting changes coming.
Intermittent issues of Sign Builder in the collection, too.
Flame? Rep? Anyone in the region?
I think I've seen this thread a thousand times before.
Here's what's what:
Yes, there are some really talented artists out there who can paint, sculpt, carve signs with true beauty. No question.
Yes, there are shops out there with tons of equipment that don't have the highest composition...
Appropriate decision Fred.
That was some attrocious work. (used to run an 8 man wholesale garment printing shop)
But the real problem was his inability to deal with the client in a fair and forthright manner and use industry standards for the work itself.

Also, large...

Alu-panel, Polymetal, etc.
By the way, I think that your on the right track with the composite material.
We tried out a big Fletcher a year or two ago, (not sure if it was the Titan) but the seller said it'd cut 3mm Dibond. It wouldn't. Not without an enormous amount of downforce.
This info probably won't help as I don't know about 17mm PVC. But be sure and check out seller's claims for yourself...
Well that's the one possibility I imagined he was referring to, but to refer to membership as a resource struck me as sort of a clumsey use of terms.
No matter.
I'm glad you do. It doesn't have to be gasoline. Not many of us will pay more than we have to on "principle".
Donut shop selling donuts for $3.00 a dozen must infuriate other shops selling at $4.50, etc.
But hey, it's America! (ie: capitalism) And when people start telling other people what...
