  1. Banners on HP L25500

Okay, the results are in.... and on video! :clapping: Use aggressive pressure and yes, the ink does come off. Wipe gently and the ink does not come off. I used a fairly abrasive cotton cloth (costco standard issue) to wipe with, so not sure if that had any play in it. Also, banner was JUST off...
  2. Banners on HP L25500

Running a banner RIGHT NOW... results coming shortly!!
  3. Gerber Back-Cut ROCKS!

Thought I'd share another back-cut job printed on 3M 180i Reflective Sheeting. Obviously I had to adjust the cut forces, but worked like a charm! Back split for crack'n'peel also! :thumb:
  4. Estimate Software LOCKED!!

Thanks Chris... sounds interesting! Yeah, I have the ND Graphics spreadsheet. It is somewhat weak and limited. They used it with me as a "sales tool" when they sold me the Edge system. I used it at first for basic stuff, but it had limitations. Think I might just have a plan in place...
  5. saying goodbye

I agree 100% with this analogy and that's the way I view this forum. I feel privileged to be a part of this forum, as Fred didn't have to let me in to begin with. Just because it's on the internet, it doesn't mean it's a free-for-all. A lot of work, time, effort and I'm sure sleepless nights...
  6. Estimate Software LOCKED!!

Do you do Gerber printing OP? Just curious. I agree with you for pretty much everything else, but with the Gerber there are way, way too many variables to make it that simple, especially when I need two other people to be able to CONSISTENTLY price out work. Thanks for all the suggestions...
  7. Banners on HP L25500

Hi Sue! The banner material I use is Ultraflex Superprint Plus Gloss 13oz. I generally stock 38" x 164' as a majority of the banners I run are 3' wide and this allows me to print a full 36" and have the 1" hem without trimming the length! I haven't run one in the last two days, but I will do the...
  8. Estimate Software LOCKED!!

Thanks! In the year that I have been using Estimate for pricing edge printing, I have also found it very low sometimes. I'm not a huge fan of the way it prices, but at the time, it was better than nothing! There are so many variables in edge pricing. It would be great if Gerber actually had a...
  9. Estimate Software LOCKED!!

Regardless of media, foils, laminating, etc...??? Can you really price Gerber printing out per square foot when it's pretty much a linear based process?
  10. Gerber Back-Cut ROCKS!

For all you guys using Gerbers, I've started another thread called "Estimate Software LOCKED". I am looking for ideas on methods of pricing out Gerber products (not pricing, but pricing methods). Any feedback would be appreciated! :thumb:
  11. Gerber Back-Cut ROCKS!

Give Matt McGrath at GMS a call. He is very good to deal with, and extremely helpful! :thumb:
  12. Estimate Software LOCKED!!

Well, obviously my 1 year subscription to Estimate Software is up already, as the software has "locked" me out. I can view what I have done, but can't do anything!! I only used this software to price out printing on my Gerber, and I don't know if it's worth renewing the subscription just for...
  13. Gerber Back-Cut ROCKS!

Yep... it seems to stay sharp for a long time when back cutting. I would imagine you'd need something a little sharper for back cutting intricate shapes though. ND is my supplier here also. I'm sure they're the exclusive Gerber distributor here in Canada which is why their prices are so steep...
  14. Joe Diaz is at the SGIA sign convention in New Orleans

Bet they offer him a job!!!
  15. How are you trimming your 8 ft length Photo tex wall murals?

Are you guys using a big squeegee to install, or just the old fashioned small squeegee way?
  16. Gerber Back-Cut ROCKS!

No, these were printed on the Gerber Edge FX. White vinyl with Silver Metal foil. I carry 2 blade holders... one for front cut and one for back-cutting... and lots of spare blades (now that I've discovered GMS.com!!). I've back-cut maybe 50 jobs in the last 6-8 months and have yet to change a...

Next banner job I run, I will try that and let you know! :thumb:
  18. Hello from Alberta, Canada

Welcome from your southern neighbour all the way down here in Calgary!
  19. Gerber Back-Cut ROCKS!

Wanted to show off these (simple) little shape cut decals I just finished for a customer. They back-cut like a charm! I was actually surprised as to how accurate, fast and very clean the back-cut went. For those using Gerber/Envision and not using the back-cut feature... why not?!! :thumb...
