  1. A sign to ponder?

ProSigns, you seem to have some business knowlege and some historical perspectives. But the thing you say about American CEO's selling out the American worker should be balanced with this thought. American CEO's have but one mission. And that is to pay stockholders (read, owners) the highest...
  2. A sign to ponder?

Regarding "American" vehicles. Consider this: Ford makes some of their stuff in Korea and Mexico. General Motors is producing some vehicles in Canada, and has been for some time. Toyota (the foreign car maker) is now making all the vehicles they sell in America, here in America. (most plants...
  3. A sign to ponder?

Gpd, are you capable of writing a reply without ad hominem rebukes? Just wondering. You know, it's those kinds of incendiary responses that gets these kinds of threads locked down. I for one, kind of like these threads because it's a pleasant diversion from the daily grind. What I don't like...
  4. VersaWorks isn't Ripping/Cutting...

Women are NOT like computers. They won't accept a three and a half inch floppy.
  5. A sign to ponder?

Yes, I know. We all pay "lip service" to this concept. It makes us feel good and not blame-worthy. But the reality is much different. Many of Americans need to climb down from their high-horse and see the reality of business. ie: If Americans are willing to drive to the edge of town to pick up...
  6. A sign to ponder?

How is it that "you're all about supportin' the little guy"? All about means just what it says. What you, (and yes me too), are "all about" is ourselves. Otherwise, Wal-Mart would have no allure whatsover. Think about it.
  7. A sign to ponder?

One last volley. The sign says the store was bankrupted by the big box store. Think about that statement. Is is true? The store was bankrupted by the very customers it used to have. They switched to the box stores because of pricing. Right? They're loyalty is a little thin, and that's what is...
  8. A sign to ponder?

The chinese plants have the ability to make better products. But, just like some new sign shops, they have chosen to go cheap to gain market share. There's plenty of players in the "high end". Why compete there? I remind people that fifty years ago "Made in Japan" was a symbol meaning made...
  9. A sign to ponder?

Once again, I agree with Bob. He's right on. I guess we're not supposed to get political on this board, but if we remain civil? Can we then? Think about isolationism. You do my wash, I'll do yours. How soon before Americans figure some stuff out. We are not an island. Global markets are for...
  10. Hello from Ohio

Hi Tim, and welcome. Lived in Mansfield in 1969. Out here in the Pacific Northwest now. Are you a big Buckeye fan?
  11. Exceedingly dumb question, re: temp files

Thanks techman, I was a little concerned. Some of them date back a couple of years, and are entitled like Set1A.tmp or Set8.tmp and I have no idea what that is. I try and dump .tmp files regularly if I know what they are. (a downloaded movie, internet stuff or whatever)
  12. New to Forums...hello everyone ;)

Welcome from Longview, WA. About 60 miles north of you.
  13. Exceedingly dumb question, re: temp files

Ok, can anyone say for sure, if it's absolutely safe to dump any file with the extension .tmp? Doing some housecleaning and can't be sure. I know, I know, it's probably a dumb question, but I'm a rookie on some things.
  14. Juice Drops Sale $9.99

Good of you to post. I forget to check their site. Thanks, graphixhenk!
  15. Gerber HS 15 Parts

Gerber wants a whole lot of money for everything.
  16. Same problem, different day. (photoshop)

I see that opinions can vary here. I do like the idea of either an internal or external drive dedicated soley as a scratch drive. Someone said CompUSA has something like that (80 gig internal HD) for like $39.00 or whatever. Question is, can a dummy like myself put it in....and without...
  17. Same problem, different day. (photoshop)

Yes, it's a server. It's networked to all computers in the place through a D-link switch.
  18. Same problem, different day. (photoshop)

TVG, I tried changing it but it doesn't seem to give me that option. Just Start-up or C:/ When I mouse over, it won't allow changes. So where can those changes be made, do you happen to know?
  19. Same problem, different day. (photoshop)

TVG, could this be a part of the problem? In Edit/Preferences/Plugins/Scratch Disks it says "Start up" in the First box. Should that be changed? Secondly, I have an external 500 gig server. But that is only a storage device, correct? It has no "memory" of it's own, right? So that can't be...
  20. Same problem, different day. (photoshop)

Thank you TVG. But what do you do when you tell that very thing to your tech and he says, "rubbish" to that? I'll get him on the phone and re-discuss this mess. Appreciate the reply.
