  1. Same problem, different day. (photoshop)

Ok, still having a bit of a problem in PS when adding special effects. Getting error messages to the tune of "not enough memory" etc. I posted about this the other day and got much advice suggesting that I don't have enough RAM. Added 1 gig yesterday and now have 2 gigs total. Someone said...
  2. Not enough memory error. Please help.

Jiarby, thanks. My tech guy is coming tomorrow at 2:00pm PST to add 1 gig RAM. I'll ask him about your ideas and Techman's and some of the others. Regarding a separate drive, I did ask and he sort of pooh-poohed the idea. Strange, but true. Anyway, I'll have him read some of these posts and...
  3. Not enough memory error. Please help.

Techman, I've lowered my number to 32% of available RAM. But shouldn't I be going UP in percentage? Not down? Finally, in the Plug-ins and Scratch Disk preferences menu, my settings are First: Start-up Second: None, Third: None, Fourth: None. Should they be set at C:/ instead?
  4. Not enough memory error. Please help.

Ok, just phoned my tech. They're going to start by adding one additional gig of ram. Then we'll mess with the memory allocation issues, I guess. Thanks all for input. Love this place.
  5. Not enough memory error. Please help.

Velocity, I work on one machine with, I guess, one hard drive. The other designer also is set up identically. We save everything to a 500 gig server, but that doesn't count, I assume. I run the printer, he runs the Edge and plotter. Bill, I tried that. Dropped all the way down to 75 dpi. Same...
  6. Not enough memory error. Please help.

You know, I don't even know what a scratch disk is. Not savvy in this area at all.
  7. Not enough memory error. Please help.

Trying to apply a brushed metal background (Alien Skin Eye Candy 5.0) to a sign in PhotoShop 7.0. Sign is 3'x4', (112 meg at 150 dpi) Error message keeps popping up stating "cannot complete command due to insufficient memory". The computer itself has 1.0 Gig Ram. Surely this command doesn't...

Hi from the Pacific Northwest! Welcome to this board. Got an uncle in Moriarty, NM. Gotta be nearby?
  9. Chief Petty Officer Insignia

Corel Draw 7.0 has a simple wireframe version of the CPO you're looking for. It's pretty basic, though. (if you have Corel?) Clipart/Crests/Navy/CPO
  10. Photoshop "Chrome" effect plugins????

Would anyone be willing to share with me the exact steps to take to save these downloaded styles in the correct place? And then the exact steps in accessing them? Much appreciate any help. I have PhotoShop 7.0 (I know, it's old)
  11. Juice Drops

Ok, and Cody....now that you've obtained our full and sincere go-ahead endorsement of Juice Drops, don't forget to post an image of your first sign done with them. lol
  12. copy omega fonts

Fenris, question for you. We have two licensed copies of Omega 2.1. But the other designer here at his design station has different fonts loaded. Are you saying that we can have the identical font directory, if we follow those instructions? Whenever I add a font, he gets it too? Obviously, I'm...
  13. Hello All!

Hello from the Pacific Northwest. Graduated Strongsville, OH. Ever been there?
  14. Should be easy Font ID...

    Goudy family.
  15. Juice Drops

Corel PhotoPaint is a paint program, so I'm very sure you can use them there. I'm just not a whiz in PhotoPaint. (not a whiz in PhotoShop either, but can get around a bit) I don't know whether the "layers" would all open though, since they are native to PhotoShop as .psd files. But surely the...
  16. New to the site.... from the Pacific NW Area

No, Cody, that's yet another sign shop with Columbia in their name. That shop was actually located in my town. They were "Columbia River Sign Company". And you're correct they are defunct now. They were swallowed up, or bought by, Vancouver Sign Co. down in your area.
  17. New to the site.... from the Pacific NW Area

Cody, just so I'm not confused. Are you in any way connected to Columbia Sign and Neon, in Portland, across the river?
  18. ID? should be easy.

Baskerville family, with special treatment to the R?
  19. Juice Drops

Hey Cody, just hang in there and like I said, watch their site. The hardest problem you'll have is deciding which ones to get. Really!
