  1. Thoughts on these layouts

Trying my hand at a trailer wrap before we kick it to a designer. Custmoer had photos taken of some of their work and want them used in the layout. I'm not crazy for photos but these ones are pretty nice and high resolution. Looking for some critique on these layouts.
  2. Any Plans?

just finished up, cut it pretty close, she gets out of work at 6.
  3. Any Plans?

Made this rose out of stainless steel. Took about 30 hours, and still have to weld on 4 little leaves right under the rose. Is it sad that the first project I've posted on signs isn't sign related at all?
  4. Sad Day

@ DW. This is what comes to mind when I read your comments. RIP
  5. Ghosting on backlit sign face

@psbc How did you end up with this job. We have a very similar job on hand now, 2 ghosted pan face signs. Trying to determine if we should try cleaning or buffing the faces to get rid of the ghosting. And if we can get rid of the ghosting good enough then we will cover with printed...
  6. temporary sign covering backlit

Thanks. Took about 45 min. to install. Biggest pain for us was putting the vinyl to the banner. Since we already had printed and taped vinyl to overlay on the sign originally, we used that on the banner. Upholstery shop suggested to put the vinyl on after they sewed it becasue they would be...
  7. temporary sign covering backlit

Got the banner bag up today. We left the left side open from half way down with grommets to make it easier to slip on. Stuck a couple 2x4's inside the banner bag to help get it up and over the top. Wasn't a fun job but got it done. Hopping that most of the creases fall out, but overall happy...
  8. temporary sign covering backlit

Couple questions about the banner bag. The upholstery shop who will be sewing the banners together wants the 2 banner faces and and 1 piece that will be the top and sides, so they will be sewing 3 pieces together. They said to add 3/4" for sewing. How tight of a fit do you typically...
  9. temporary sign covering backlit

The sign is being replaced probably in a couple months when they have tenants. Not by us though, we're subbing it out.
  10. temporary sign covering backlit

Thank you Gino and everyone else who posted. This is good advice and im taking it. I'll try to be more clear in the future.
  11. temporary sign covering backlit

This is not a permanent sign. It is temporary.
  12. temporary sign covering backlit

Gino, please don't take this the wrong way. Besides probable insurance and code violations, What flawes does the idea have, and what just won't look good? So you know, I just talked to the customer again and we are going to do the banner bag. But I am still curious as to why the other way...
  13. temporary sign covering backlit

ok i worded that poorley. Everyone who has posted in this thread are the "more expierenced" people I was reffering to. More expierenced then me. And your expierence is invaluable to me through this site. What I meant to say is that I was hoping more experienced people here were going to...
  14. temporary sign covering backlit

The new sign is red background yellow text, full size 10'x5'. We originally were going to vinyl over the whole thing, but the back side of the sign is pretty uneven ground, shrubs, telephone pole, etc., not to mention the wind and cold this week, not really able to get ladders back there to do...
  15. temporary sign covering backlit

ok yes i get it the banner bag is the perferred method.. But.... Will the other method i described, coarse threaded screws thruogh grometted coro or banner to the polycarbonate face around the perimeter and in the middle, work/not fall apart?
  16. temporary sign covering backlit

Gino, are you more concerned about the coro ripping or tearing away from the zip screws or the zip screws themselves either pulling out of the sign face, or causing the sign face to crack? Just curious.
  17. temporary sign covering backlit

OK thanks for the pic gino. We were thinking of zip screwing (coarse threaded self tapping screws) not zip ties. But seems this is a no no? I have reservations about it too, but if the coro was zip screwed, through grommets, with big washers, all around the perimeter and in the middle I...
  18. temporary sign covering backlit

ok so after doing some searching on banner bags seems most have the sides sewn together. So basically looks like a big box, with no bottom, that a really big flat screen tv would come out of. This is not something we are set up to do, we power tape banners, and on the occasion we need a sewn...
  19. temporary sign covering backlit

Pic doesn't really show the damage well. On the bottom near the middle you can see the extrusion is bent. I held a straight edge to it and the bend is 2.25" deep.
  20. temporary sign covering backlit

Banner Bag? Gonna have to look this up. Guessing a 10'x10'+depth of sign, grommets around perimeter, or maybe just the bottom, drape over sign and tie grommets together?
