  1. CNC router owners.... compressor questions

nah... I just like to create that illusion so my tool junkie addiction will look like it supports itself :Big Laugh
  2. CNC router owners.... compressor questions

uhhhh... yeah, I really ought to get to that. After 3 weeks gone, I've been trying to get things caught up. Last Sunday I finally sorted, cropped, (and tweaked as needed) about 300 photos from the various trips within my trip. I also sorted, and named a dozen or more video segments. Soon...
  3. CNC router owners.... compressor questions

Thanks Gary, great idea! Just realized I should mention for those with different machines... the compressor will be running an air-cooled pneumatic chuck spindle, with an auto tool-changer, so maintaining a constant supply of the proper CFM is critical, as is the need for clean, dry air.
  4. CNC router owners.... compressor questions

I should be pulling the trigger on a Multicam purchase in the next week or so, and I have done a bit of research on the proper compressor size to go with the 3000 series. (or specifically the 3103-R on my quote) Dan Swatzky has given me specs on what I saw at the recent workshop I attended at...
  5. Accidentilly hit power button twice, HELP?

did you try the end button? On my Mimaki, I always use the end button to back out of things... although I don't honestly know about your specific situation. I'd be bummin' too.. and wouldn't be able to stop worrying, so I'd also probably try hitting gren button twice quickly again.
  6. Need opinions on used models???

oh yeah... I meant to say that in my post too! :thread (but welcome aboard anyway... see ya in a new thread :Big Laugh)
  7. Need opinions on used models???

EMS, welcome aboard. I've read all the "just use Corel" posts for years, and they are usually tied to Roland equipment. I don't know the details, but I think there is more knowledge required, and possibly limitations on which Roland plotters, for the straight "cut from Corel" approach. There...
  8. Add Setup without Devices

my guess would be that you have a cheap USB/serial adaptor, made for use with a PDA, not a plotter. Some USB/serial adaptors have been know to work, but for running plotters.... most of them won't work. "high speed communication" is one of the factors to look for.
  9. New start-up.

I'm sure you must have meant misspellings  ...both times! :Big Laugh
  10. New start-up.

I was going to post earlier that even if flavah-flav was a troll... he was doing an entertaining job of it... and it didn't bother me. I also thought it came off just naive enough to be authentic... so I witheld judgement during the initial reactionary period. Anyway, having now read the...
  11. SH____T,, Im an idiot.

don't forget, if you have nightly auto-back-up system in place... it's not just for catastrophic drive failure... even restoring a back-up for one file may be worthwhile, if the re-do is hours of work. (assuming the un-saved change version you want was in place the night before when a backup ran)
  12. Casmate Fonts

casmate fonts are provided in some unique sort of "folder" setting, rather then existing as individual files like most other fonts... so the set of fonts provided (200 - 300 maybe) will be located on the original software disck as about 4 "collections" or folders... with names like bitstream...

  14. Another Back-up Hardware Question

lots of cool ideas here... thanks for the replies, the testimonials for different products... and for those who have also suffered through some of these difficulties, thanks for helping me not feel like the only loser who just can't always seem to keep up with the difficult challenge of figuring...
  15. Another Back-up Hardware Question

BINGO! That is my gripe with Ghost, or the Windows server backup (and many others). They are great for catastrophic insurance, but for archiving files I may need to hunt through... I like still being able to just root around in windows explorer, or run a search on that drive with windows search...
  16. Another Back-up Hardware Question

nice try Rhino! (but that avatar looks expensive to feed) ok... just dl'd the second copy trial. Last night, I gave up running the 62 gig quarterly backup to the WD external USB drive... after 3 or 4 errors spread over 3 or 4 hours... I decided, in order to get a second 03-09 Archive...
  17. Another Back-up Hardware Question

I assume it is just a differential backup, but if not, my guess (since he said it's NOT at his sign shop) ...if it really copies 750GB, that maybe he works in some industry creating, or processing massive amounts of huge files, like a photo processing, or video editing service or something....
  18. Another Back-up Hardware Question

thanks for all the tips folks. 2GB doesn't seem to do much for me... but 750 nightly!! ...wow! Is this just a differential backup, weeding through 750GB looking for what has changed... or is this actually making copies of 750 GB? I have Ghost 10, and use it to ghost my production machines (no...
  19. Another Back-up Hardware Question

may have to do that. Thanks
