It wouldn't read the mark? Was it scanning over the mark but just not reading it? You need to use a black pen tool and something like a sheet of card stock. If it's not reading the mark then that could be a problem. This is what sets the distance between the tool and sensor.. I'm not...

You've done the sensor/tool alignment where it draws the mark on the paper with the pen and then reads it? What program are you cutting out of? What type of crop marks are you using? Dimensions/offset of them?

Banner tape is fine, sometimes you can give yourself extra and do two lines of it if you are unsure.. And yes, grommet it together on the ends, that's really the weak spot anyway.

tiny piece of tape when i attach it to the roll, run like normal, then when it's finished I can tape off the roll, and twist it in reverse to snap the tape off on the roll and slide it off. I only do this because my take up is a 2" core, but everything else is 3" and I don't get new 2" cores ever.
