  1. What do you collect

Watches. Nothing fancy, just Seiko automatics.. mostly divers. And tools. And debt.. I'm not a debt collecter.. I just collect debt.
  2. Thank you Cricket Plotter forums!

We always tell people "We don't have scraps. If we can't use it then it's trash."
  3. Booze in the shop?

No, never. I'd get even less done than I do now.
  4. How often do you all calibrate your machines?

Usually run auto-cals every week or so. Anything that requires physical adjustments? Only if I've done something to knock it out of whack.
  5. How wind resistant are mesh banners?

How is it installed? It might be a matter of reevaluating the way it's being hung..
  6. T Shirts

No idea on cost.. The price seemed reasonable at the quantities we were doing. It was maybe a dollar over the other common brands, but the name sold it. Hell, I could sell the blank AA's for the same price I could sell printed ones. Still can considering retails on a 2001 is like 20 bucks.
  7. T Shirts

I used to buy strictly from AA when I did screen printing, regardless of any PR issues they have had. I like the fit and feel.
  8. Arial vs Helvetica

Nope. Not unless your panties came pre-wadded and you're just looking for reasons to moan about it.

  10. any good 3D rendering software?

You can probably get away with vector if you're any good. 3D from people who don't use 3d always looks like doo doo.
  11. Graphtec FC8000-160 won't cut accurately

Well let us know what you figure out, it may help solve someone else's problem in the future.
  12. Graphtec FC8000-160 won't cut accurately

It wouldn't read the mark? Was it scanning over the mark but just not reading it? You need to use a black pen tool and something like a sheet of card stock. If it's not reading the mark then that could be a problem. This is what sets the distance between the tool and sensor.. I'm not...
  13. Something has changed

it's the internet.. let's keep the crying to ourselves.
  14. Graphtec FC8000-160 won't cut accurately

You've done the sensor/tool alignment where it draws the mark on the paper with the pen and then reads it? What program are you cutting out of? What type of crop marks are you using? Dimensions/offset of them?
  15. here is another strange Signlab 8 issue

Importing something with a clipping mask? I'm not using 8 at the moment, but it seems like clipping masks always confused SL7.
  16. Colorspan 72UVX... why, you little...! (strangle, strangle)

If it's not curing... did you flush the head with the solachrome flush before letting it "relax"? Or has it just had ink sitting in it? I know sometimes if there is some of the flush in the head, there will have a hard time curing fully. The vacuum system is pretty simple to check. Take...
  17. Bearing for Colorspan 72 UVX

Is it the bearing? or is the wheel on the bearing? If it's the wheel that is toast, you will have to replace the entire trolley mechanism (that is all that HP sells). It was $1600 last time I checked. If the wheels are getting chewed up, have you been keeping the bearing rails clean? Are...
  18. Banner Hemming

Banner tape is fine, sometimes you can give yourself extra and do two lines of it if you are unsure.. And yes, grommet it together on the ends, that's really the weak spot anyway.
  19. should these be banned?

No, but now whenever you purchase a hammer you'll have a three day waiting period and must provide proper identification and provide documentation showing you've participated in a hammer safety course, and there is a limit to the weight of hammer you can swing. Felons can no longer purchase or...
  20. Unrolling backing from laminator

tiny piece of tape when i attach it to the roll, run like normal, then when it's finished I can tape off the roll, and twist it in reverse to snap the tape off on the roll and slide it off. I only do this because my take up is a 2" core, but everything else is 3" and I don't get new 2" cores ever.
