The entry level Mutoh and Mimaki printer right now have a top speed of 500 sq ft per hour. Those are their slowest models. The SP series was definitely slower but the VS should be faster than the VG even though it's an older machine.
At 375 sq ft per hour top speed it's actually one of the slowest Rolands ever and certainly one of the slowest of modern printers. I don't understand why Roland made this machine. The cutting specs are killer compared to other printer/cutters but that's about all it has going for it. Was it...
It's pretty common on the CJV series but I don't hear about it a lot on the JV33. Usually it happens when you change the origin manually instead of letting the printer print from the default origin. Other than that, it might be the encoder. Wouldn't hurt to clean it anyway.
If you are using Illustrator to design, just select one of the lines you want to change the color of. Then go to the, "Select" menu and choose "Same > Stroke Color" Now all of them are selected and you can change the color whatever you want. If you are using other software, they all have...
Usually when the good ol' 0110 comes up I run the limit position initialization then I go into the service mode and run the encoder calibration and setup. Then environmental match in the user mode. If all of those things run and complete successfully, you should be good to go. If any fail...
Bulk systems tend to cause more issues than cartridges for sure. That could be the issue. I would call Mutoh and ask them to help troubleshoot.
No need to pull the head to soak. Just take the covers off to expose the bottom of the maintenance station so you can see the waste tubes. Crimp the...
Are you using OEM cartridges or a 3rd party bulk system? How old is the machine and how long has it been since you replaced the dampers and maintenance station or cap top? Are you letting the machine sleep and auto clean?
In general, if you aren't using the machine everyday, you should be...
He is right. Most newer model machines do have user replaceable fuses but your model is a solder type. Normally in this situation a sleezy tech would have told you the only way to fix it is to replace the whole main board. Taking the board out is the professional way to do it.
Make sure the heads are docked and then disconnect the M/Y cap top tube from the Y connector that goes to the pump. Now hook a syringe up to the tube and pull down. You should feel fairly strong resistance and shortly after you should see ink flow into the syringe. If you get all air and very...
Giving small companies/customers terms is a real mistake. We used to do it and we got burned so many times that everyone is credit card only. Out of 1000's of customers we give maybe 5 companies terms. Those 5 companies never miss a payment and spend big bucks with us. If you aren't spending...
There should be 2 cyan channels per head. Are the cyan channels both bad on one head or all 4 bad on both heads? If it is happening on all 4 cyan channels, I would be concerned that there is either a board damaged or the ink is bad.
No Media: This usually occurs because the sensor that tells the printer if there is media loaded or not gets exposed to light. Normally the vinyl covers the sensor and so it thinks it's loaded. On your machine the sensor should be located on the back or center platen. It will look like an oval...
I'm willing to bet it's the cable. Even though they all seem the same, not all brands work with these machines for some reason. I have used the Belkin brand before with this exact setup and it worked. Maybe someone else has an idea. As far as I know, there really isn't a specific driver for that...
The fact that usb_printer_0 shows up means that either you have another printer hooked up to the computer or it is seeing the SC500. What does the screen say when it wakes up?
The PF encoder disc is dirty or damaged. I have run into this many times as a tech. Take the left cover off the machine and it will expose a clear plastic disc. Clean the disc with as lint free of a cloth you have and rubbing alcohol. You just want to get the dust and any grease off of it. Do...
This right here is where you want to start. The JV3 is one of the only printers that doesn't stop and give you a motor error when there are encoder issues. It just stops printing ink.
