  1. Anyone used the banner hemmer

Proper heat welding makes a stronger seam than sewing.
  2. Anyone used the banner hemmer

If you watch the video when he seals the end and removes it doesn't look like it sealed the sides together very evenly.
  3. The font "Spring"

    It's only $29 at Adobe. http://store4.adobe.com/cfusion/store/html/index.cfm?store=OLS-US&event=displayFontPackage&code=1399
  4. Accepting Credit Cards

When I set ours up one of the local banks offered the best rate...and the credit card service sales chick from the bank was unbelievable hot, so that was a plus.
  5. 4x8 sign

Still do it as a single panel. lay the panel face down, peel off the backing, spray the hell out of it with the Rapid Tac, flip it over onto the panel, align, squegee out all the Rapid Tac. We did them that way forever until we got a Big Squegee.
  6. Anyone near Raleigh NC have a working zip drive?

I'm pretty sure we've still got two of them under the table somewhere. I'll try to remember them in the morning. If you don't see an IM from me it means I forgot so send me a message to remind me. I I've still got them you can have them.
  7. Accepting Credit Cards

I can't tell you what my rate is exactly anymore, I quit bothering with trying to get it down any lower. I just assume I'm paying 3% of each credit card transaction (it's NEVER that high, I'm just playing it safe) It's real easy to justify it...go up on your prices 5%. Nobody will notice it...
  8. 4x8 sign

Ditto. One panel, five minutes to align the panel, apply and trim with the Big Sqeegee, and you'll live happily ever after.
  9. Bending Over Backward for Customers

Okay, I'll be the guy....take this for what it's worth: The layouts for the Christmas signs would never have made it out of our shop. They're entry level work, at best. You really need to hone your skill level, and especially your speed, if you're planning on making a living as a designer...
  10. looking for packaging

Be warned....if you ever order from U-Line they'll send you a 200 page catalog about once a week for the rest of your life.
  11. Anyone make Spindles for staircase?

Damn, first Pancake King reveals he makes some damn nice signs, now he shows off damn good furniture. What's next? Gonna reveal that you used to do engraving for the US Mint?
  12. Thinking about it.....

You mean "original poster" or "old paint"? Actually, it doesn't matter, it fits either way.
  13. Rear Van and some cool tool perspective?

If the guy sells the tools you might just be better off taking pictures yourself.
  14. Bouncing Blade!

Gaboo is right. The blade isn't turning completely. When it tries to cut it's pulling the vinyl into little peaks that make it hop. A drop of machine oil in the holder should fix it.
  15. Thinking about it.....

Isn't it about time Fred starts deleting posts like this one? We get at least one a week and they ALL degrade into the newbie getting his feelings hurt and calling people a*******. Maybe we could just compile all the questions, answers, smart-assed comments and links into one permanent post...
  16. Need font called DIN

Did you try www.fontfont.com ? The font is FF DIN and when you see the price you might want to look at modifying one of the Humanist fonts for it. If it's just for the logo make them provide the logo for you.
  17. Shop Truck Wrap

Doesn't pass the squint test, name is hard as hell to read, I don't see a phone number....and I think the whole thing is badassed. Sure, there's a section of society that won't get it...but they won't be able to read it anyway so forget them!
  18. Zoning Ordinance a little strict?

Kid grew up, got a girlfriend, realized that "kid with worm farm" ranked just below "zit faced Star Trek geek" on the social scale and gave up the business. The city councilman changed his name to Old Paint and moved to Pensacola.
  19. Zoning Ordinance a little strict?

And you see who is causing all the problems? It's another one of those damn Diaz boys.
  20. A hand routered coffee sign

Did you mount the print before you cut it out? Just asking because it looks like it picked the vinyl a good bit (but that may just be the picture) If you use an orbital jigsaw it will eliminate that problem (or a cut-awl)
