  1. Advice on lettering a trailer...

Clean around the rivets with Rapid Prep or denatured alcohol. Apply a cast vinyl. Heat the rivets GENTLY and squeegee down, it's a lot easier than you think. Using a torch is faster than a heat gun but if you don't watch what you're doing you'll scorch the vinyl. Don't remove the rivets.
  2. Do all resellers just suck?

Fighting putting off a printer until I've paid off the business purchase, paid off one last credit card, saved $10,000 and saved enough to pay cash for the printer. If I can find a good enough subcontractor I'll put if off until I can pay cash for a flatbed which will work a whole lot better...
  3. Do all resellers just suck?

Thanks for all the references, I think I've found a supplier that's gonna work out pretty well. Just got to work out a couple of file issues. For the record (since I got several PMs asking) Signs365 is not one of the suppliers I was talking about. Signs365 actually went above and beyond today...
  4. Do all resellers just suck?

What the hell is wrong these days? I've tried four different "suppliers" recently for digitally printed decals. Three of them were people from this site who responded to my rant about my last print supplier. My orders are typically 20 - 30 sq. ft. Nothing major, but I didn't think they...
  5. Will the real DeSoto please stand up.....

    Very interesting question.
  6. dragon from magic sculpt

That things a hell of a lot bigger than in looked originally. Awesome. Put a few extra screws in it or it'll end up in a dorm room somewhere.
  7. Will the real DeSoto please stand up.....

    Yeah....bring back Cappy.
  8. designing new business cards

Same way I managed to miss the corn dog thread.
  9. Ed Hardy style art

Von Dutch? Wasn't he that fashion designer guy?
  10. Golf Tournament Sign

I've NEVER paid attention to a hole sponsor sign and I'm willing to bet 95% of the golfers in the tournament don't either. They're useless advertising. That sign, however, is gonna look damn impressive and impossible to miss. People will feel almost obligated to at least grab a card. Great job.
  11. Human Billboard

Step 1: Call city hall in Birmingham, Hoover, and Trussville and ask them if it's even legal anymore.
  12. dragon from magic sculpt

I thought I was the only person who microwaved Magic Sculpt. :ROFLMAO:
  13. Your Thoughts Are Welcomed!!!

By the way, I can't stress enough how big a difference there is in working in a shop and owning and running the shop. After 16 years of doing virtually everything to keep the shop I work in open I thought I was more than ready to go out on my own. It worked out that I bought the business I was...
  14. Your Thoughts Are Welcomed!!!

Exactly what Dan said. If you don't clear it with them up front as soon as they find out you're going to be blamed from taking business that should have been coming to them. Also how are you going to handle the phone calls during the day to discuss projects? Do you work for one sign company...
  15. What is your preferred banner tape?

The 1" Technical Laminations tape from Fellers. Let that stuff bond for 10 minutes and you'll tear the banner trying to separate the two panels.
  16. Helmet Wrap

It sucks because you get times like this. ExistenceOne's helmets were works of art....now the images are gone and probably won't be back.
  17. Helmet Wrap

So...is the "NO OFF-SITE PICTURES ALLOWED" idea just too difficult for people to grasp?
  18. Mimaki JV3- 160 SP

Morph, since you didn't read the earlier replies....STOP POSTING OFF SITE PICTURES. THEY'LL BE REMOVED BEFORE YOU GET THE HELP YOU NEED.
  19. Milling machine vector??

That's a pretty specialized piece of clip art you're looking for and I doubt it's out there for you. You're probably going to be better off finding a photo and vectoring it yourself.
