To further derail the topic what are you guys doing about custom shapes where you have to bleed off the boards? Where it's not possible or practical to cut after printing?
When it's printing well it does a good job, but the amount of wasted ink through overly cleaning/purging and wasting media from stopping and going to address the banding it's not something I would consider.
In the last 8 months we've put roughly (15) 50yd rolls of adhesive backed vinyl through...
We have one here. If you like banding and putting a large portion of the ink you're buying into the waste bottle, this is your machine.
I'd personally look elsewhere.
You're not dragging "lint" on the heads causing the issue? I'd wager if it's only at startups or after not being online for an extended amount of time temperature is part of the problem.
I thought last season they were thrown off Porcupine Creek because Dakota Fred took over behind their backs. Wasn't there a whole trailer of them going way out into the middle of nowhere to check out another claim?
I'm running a bendable ink in our TempoQ that we've been reasonably happy with, but I'm curious what most of you guys are running in your presses.
Sericol/Fuji?
Nazdar?
OEM?
Why wouldn't you handle the bleed/splitting the sheets up in prepress so you've just got 7 files to print?
I'm assuming you can bleed off the edges onto the belt drive, but someone can chime in w/ their first hand experiences.
We're shrink wrapping upon arrival, and yes sometimes this stuff will sit, but by and large it's only here a week and it's through the press. I spoke to our vendors earlier about requiring down warping for us to accept the pieces in the future. I appreciate the info.
There's 1.3mm of space built in if you dial in your height to what you're mic'ing your material at on this press. On problematic media I'll pad that height above what it mics. On this press you cannot pause w/out ruining the bed as it won't go back to the same position which is either a flaw...
I'm largely printing on Coroplast and HIPS w/ PVC thrown in occasionally and a smattering of Corrugated, Banner and some PS Vinyl.
Corrugated is largely the pain in the neck as the vac will pull right through the sheets and the the fluted edges being massive leak sources. On our flatbed that...
