  1. Best option for printing onto aluminum blanks in scale?

You could make a template in Caldera's Compose window. Then just add whatever files you need for each bed. I would rather have a jig cut for larger quantities but you could print a template on the bed as well. The Trufire's bed is black, so hopefully you have white ink option if you want to...
  2. Automated nesting

    Thanks, I'll check that out
  3. Automated nesting

I'm looking for programs that offer more advanced automated nesting. First one that comes to mind is Caldera Prime Center. I demo'd this a couple years ago adn wasn't impressed. We currently use Caldera for our RIP, and that does offer autonesting, but I'm looking for something a little easier...
  4. Swiss Q impala color question

I want to try this soon. I have had pictures sent to me from Digitech of reds out of Caldera vs Onyx. Onyx was a better red Yeah, we experienced that with our Acuity about 10 years ago. Changed to a higher adhesion ink and lost some gamut but it was still very good. I have a text message from...
  5. UV Flatbed Printer Experience

I agree with the repair side of things, but sometimes getting to a conclusion of an issue can be tedious. We have a WhatsApp group text that is nice sometimes, but annoying at other times. Also the software is very buggy, but it's nice that they're a smaller company and will add features into...
  6. Swiss Q impala color question

Yeah, we have Vuteks, Roland, Matans, EFI and Fuji machines that print very nice. We do our own profiling in house. But the Trufire? Red's always look orange unless you print 400 or 500 density. Digitech says it's a Caldera issue and they get better colors out of Onyx. Just seems crazy to me
  7. Swiss Q impala color question

We get very "dull" looking colors on our Trufire's. They say it's Caldera.. Our 9 other printers don't have that issue with Caldera
  8. Question No room for cut marks on most boards, Workaround suggestions?

All of our styrene is 50x99. Anything else we push to undersize them so we can get the registration dots on there
  9. Expired Fujifilm Ink

Has anyone found a way to get around the expired ink on Acuity's? Our Acuity F isn't used much anymore and it rejected the black in the machine. Unfortunately my black on the shelf was expired too. I tried changing the date in Windows but everytime you reopen the software it changes back. I...
  10. Anyone Having PVC Availability Problems

Like the day after I made my post I have started running into issues getting 1/2" black PVC. Also had a $12 a sheet increase on 5x10 1/4
  11. Discussion Trufire vs Vanguard

Interesting. We build our own profiles with a Caldera TotalColor spectrometer. Can print some really nice oranges and reds on another flatbed. Patric says it's a Caldera issue that they need to fix on their end. The only way we have been able to get around it is to print at 400 density. I will...
  12. Anyone Having PVC Availability Problems

We haven't had an issue with PVC yet. Recently have had problems with cardstock, ConVerd board and now I'm being told there is a magnet shortage
  13. Discussion Trufire vs Vanguard

Do either of you have issues printing nice looking reds at 300 density? Or are they washed out looking?
  14. Discussion Trufire vs Vanguard

Question for Trufire operators - is anyone else using Caldera for their RIP?
  15. Need Help Fujifilm Acuity EY / Oce Arizona 360GT Printhead problem

I ran into this on our old Acuity flatbed. The printheads would produce a good nozzle check but I couldn't ever get a good flood of white. We had one of the lead techs out and he replaced everything related to white ink and it ended up needing new print heads.
  16. Is Vanguard a good printer? Which model is recommended?

We had electrical issues when we first got the printer that were causing a lot of problems. Very first production job we had the color was dropping out left and right. It was frustrating at the time because we couldn't get anyone out because of covid. The machine has been better after we got...
  17. Discussion Trufire vs Vanguard

Their inks stick really good. We have only had a handful of chipping issues that I think were media related. parrott you must do a lot of coroplast on 3pass? We have did 1 large acrylic job on our Trufire that was knocking sheets out much faster than our Acuity, even at 15pass for the white...
  18. Discussion Trufire vs Vanguard

White issues is only because we don't ever run it on our Trufire. I was just looking for opinions from people that run white a lot. We do a lot of small acrylic awards on our Acuity right now. Not necessarily looking to print those jobs faster but we need to do the other daily work faster than...
  19. Discussion Trufire vs Vanguard

Does anyone have experience running both machines? Looking to replace an older flatbed printer soon. We have a Trufire that runs all our large runs. We haven't ran a lot of white on the Trufire. The printer we are replacing does all the white jobs. Trying to decide which does white jobs better...
