  1. Flatbed For Yard Sign Recommendations

You need to do a cost analysis to see how long it would take you to make a profit on printing to coroplast after purchasing a flatbed. The yard sign market is so flooded right now, especially with online suppliers getting in the game, that your margins on those jobs would be a concern to me...
  2. Opinion Cheapest Way To Get Into Print Vinyl

What about outsourcing the vinyl printing and doing the contour cutting yourself. A plotter would be a much lower investment. You could setup the file with the registration marks and cut lines, have someone print it, then when you get it back to your shop do all the plotting/trimming. Good Luck!
  3. New Member From Missouri - My Printer Asked Me To Join.

Welcome to the site from Atlanta! We're in the exhibit and display business. I could see some value for this with our exhibit clients as well as the corporate lobby makeovers and permanent display installs we do for our clients. I'd be interested in getting some more information. Thanks.
  4. Need Help Gerber Edge Users In Atlanta- Need Some Labels Printed

Looking for Gerber Edge users capable of printing white on clear vinyl for (15) .75" x 7" labels. Doesn't have to be local but we need them in hand by 4/6. Any help or referrals greatly appreciated.
  5. Photo Backdrops

+1 on Tension Fabric. Planet Tradeshow is near us in Atlanta, but they have a great product... Adjustable Banner Stands | Planet Trade Show Reasonably priced and their print/color quality is the best we've found for the price. Orbus does a great job too, but they can be pricey. If you call...
  6. Need Advice: Banner Installation Warranty Contract

After the fact it's installed... I think not. What if there was damage in the 3 weeks since installation you don't know about? This should have been covered in the initial discussion and I would have told them to pound sand. This says it all. No guarantee on banners and temporary signage...

  8. Question Finding Outsourced Designers

Look at Upwork.com. You can post a specific project, set a budget and have designers "bid" on it. You can also see the ratings and how much revenue a designer has gotten from the work they've done. I had a recent project that involved an issue with an AfterEffects video file and had several...
  9. Font Change Here?

I've seen the same thing... Some days a slab serif font, sometimes arial style font, some pages slab style, some slab. In my conversation with you yesterday it was Arial on the main site but this slab serif on the conversation pages...
  10. Hi There, New To Site

Welcome from Atlanta! You may consider outsourcing your wide format printing in the beginning until you build your business to the point that you have enough revenue to support the cost of the printer. This would give you a better idea of what your market demands are and you can make a better...
  11. "permanant" Floor Graphics

+1 for GFloor. G-Floor - Ultraflex MM Merritt Graphics on here sells it. It's a very thick rollable substrate with texture on the face. Its printed second surface with a UV flatbed and backed with either a flood coat of white or white vinyl. Used a lot early on for garage floor graphics...
  12. Corrugated Cardboard Sheets

Take a look at this.. Corrugated Cardboard You'll need to contact a paper vendor that supplies offset printers and finishing companies. Its used a lot in packaging. Good Luck!
  13. Customer Artwork

The way I have handled this is to have a design consultation with them with what they think they want and what our ideas are before any actual work begins, and not with them sitting with the designer in front of the computer. Then based on that conversation, we come up with a graphic design...
  14. Tile Lengths Are Not Equal.

I thought that we had a RIP issue as well until another "friendly" Mimaki tech pointed out in the printer specs about Distance accuracy for Precision and Repeatability... +/- 0.3%. Over 8' that equates to +/- .288". Those numbers are for the JV-33 series. The CJV-150 series appears to have...
  15. Tile Lengths Are Not Equal.

I've had the exact same problem with Rasterlink in the past. I cornered mimaki techs at SGIA to explain it to me and none of them were able to help. I was trying to print on POSPRO rigid film for pop-up panels for a tradeshow display and never could get it to work. Had the same problem with...
  16. Seeking Fabric For Dgen Teleios Fabric Printer

Have you tried TVF or Aberdeen? We've been using heavy knit front-lit and triple white for backlit from Aberdeen for dye-sub SEG tradeshow graphics. We use Octonorm frames instead of Matrix. If you do use either of these fabrics, let me know how they perform through the Telios. We're looking...
  17. News Broken Heart

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can only wish that you and your family find peace and comfort in each other and the strength to carry on. You are in my prayers. God Bless you all.
  18. Mimaki Jv33-130 Digital Printer

We have 2 JV-33's and they are workhorses. No they aren't quick, but they don't break down in my experience. Ours are 6+ years old and still print great. In the 3 years I've been here, I've had very minor issues that were all quickly resolved. Just keep up with the daily/weekly/monthly...
  19. Color Rendering Of Reverse Channel Letters?

Yes there is, but you need the Pro version with premium plugins to do the lighting effects and renderings. Steep learning curve to do all the fancy stuff. I use the free version at work and our engineer owner and production manager use the Pro version.
  20. Color Rendering Of Reverse Channel Letters?

Thank you! No, the second image is the actual booth on the show floor. Just put it in there to show how the rendering compared to the final product.
