  1. Metal Prints?? Photographers etc.

As printers are concerned, any type with a dye sub set up. We use Mutoh and a couple of Epsons but pretty much any type of printer will work, as long as they have piezo print heads. The paper is a high-release paper, generally a 105 gsm. We experimentd with a couple today on 65 gsm and we...
  2. Metal Prints?? Photographers etc.

We make them all the time for our resellers. Just finished a set of 16 x 24's. It really is difficult to capture how these actually look. We use the bare metal background with the shiny finish and is the Chromaluxe brand, though.
  3. Looking for recommendations - Sublimation Ink

As far as ink is concerned, we buy our Jteck from Daniel at Digitally Driven. Not the cheapest but at the same time not the most expensive. His customer service is exceptional, too. You can find him here and tell him Mark from Atomic Designs and Apparel sent you! I can only speak from my...
  4. Cut and Sewn Past Projects

Pat, that's the basics but as you know there is quite a bit more to it. It doesn't necessarily have to be roll to roll but it's nice to have a calendar machine to produce large volumes. As patterns are concerned, there are quite a few online stores that offer stock patterns. We actually make...

  6. Cut and Sewn Past Projects

I know I haven't posted much in a while as we have been busy. I wanted to post some jobs we have done to give people some inspiration if they are deciding to go this route. Enjoy!
  7. Sublimation equipment advice needed

The Mutoh 1638wx has been a great printer for us. We have been running it since January and I can say that I have been really impressed with the printing speeds and ease of maintenance.
  8. Epson F or Mutoh?

Robert, we are running Jteck, 8 colors. Running eight slows down printing speed a bit but we do quite a bit of aluminum substrates that require better tonal gradation so that helps. For production, we have a couple of more printers coming our way shortly. One will be set up with dual CMYK and...
  9. Epson F or Mutoh?

I am of the assumption that you are referring to the RJ-900 vs the F Series. I have mixed feelings ons the F Series as a friend of mine beta tested one a couple of years back and was not impressed. He could also never achieve a dense black which is another thread altogether. A few searches will...
  10. Asian Flavored font

Any guesses. I believe I have it already installed. I have waaay too many fonts. Time for some Spring cleaning.
  11. Shop organization examples

Even though we have shifted our business model in another direction, this is the way we handle the small rolls of vinyl and thermoflex. Best way IMHO. Couple of pieces of slat wall from your local Menards or your favorite store fixture supply warehouse plus a few accessories to hold the vinyl.

  13. Need Font Help

I can find a few close fonts but nothing like this.
  14. Font ID please

I have two different fonts going on here.
  15. Going to SGIA for the first time.. I got some questions

They alternate between Orlando and Vegas every other year. We'll be going again this year and looking forward to seeing new products and whatnot. Went to Orlando last year and it was nice as well. Doesn't have the same atmosphere as Sin City has, though. Can't wait to hit the Fusion Bar...
  16. Sublimation equipment advice needed

My next printer will be a Mutoh 1638W. I have a few large format 44" Epsons and even though they are great (slow) printers, the ability to work on them as compared to a Roland or Mutoh is somewhat difficult. Sometimes my tech just can't make it in a timely fashion and I'm a hands-on kind of...
  17. Your business card sucks!

We have been using 4Over for long time and decided to go with Silkcards a few weeks ago. The pros: Nice that they are die cut, heavier, and offer more options than 4Over. Color edges are pretty neat. The cons: The design templates offered? Fuhgetaboutit, there are none. Hell, don't need no...
  18. What vinyl to use on felt poker table

We design and print poker "felts" all the time. The material we use is a suited speed cloth which is a poly. We dye sublimate to this and it looks perfect.
