  1. Foils breaking mid-print

What would cause a foil to break mid-print? It’s been happening frequently lately on our DC4SX. Thanks for the advice!
  2. Cutting Master Times Out From Illustrator

This problem just came up on two of our FC2250's. Tried changing the language, re-seating USB cables and re-booting entire system. Any others experience this time-out error with Cutting Master and Illustrator? Thanks for the advice!
  3. High density printing?

I agree with the statement above; our "window perf" profile is low res + high speed for the same reason; half the print is punched out anyway. High quality mode isn't necessary since these decals are typically viewed from a distance
  4. calibrating Graphtec FC2250 flatbed (print to cut.)

Anyone know how to calibrate a graphtec fc2250 flatbed? Brand new one is cutting a little off on both axis. I'm not finding it in the manual. Thanks, MikeD
  5. how to double strike with Jv33?

terminology depends on your rip; look for an area that addresses pass count, and you may find an option to overprint "x" # of times. It's not the same as pass count, but should be found around the same area of your software that lets you edit a profile
  6. Calling all PhotoShop experts.

try making a copy of the file and change mode to Bitmap
  7. Calling all PhotoShop experts.

Did you get it? could be as simple as the layer being locked? maybe the doc itself is "locked from editing?" Maybe more RAM needs to be allocated? Hope you are able to get it figured out.
  8. Hey Y'all, I'm from North Central Florida

    Welcome from Orlando!
  9. flexi double cutting!!!

I do not use flexi, but I have seen this on occasion before with Illustrator and Wasatch. The designer saved the file and had "turn strokes to outline" checked in the save-as dialogue box. Hope that helps
  10. Summa D140R Error In Y Axis

I just had a puzzling problem with one of our S-75 plotters. Like your issue, it had no obvious clues. After backing up the user settings and backing up the tool properties and coil settings, it was set to factory default settings and the problem went away. You may want to speak with one of...
  11. dc4sx printCut calibration

anyone have an explanation for the print to cut calibration test's design? There are 6 sets of #'s and lines printed across the platen. Does that mean that the first set (closest to the contrl panel) addresses that area of the platen, set 3 addresses the middle area of the platen while set 6...
  12. Raaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnttttttttttttt

you may have better luck if you calibrate opos on black vinyl, and then do a media calibration. The sensor should be calibrated when switching medias.
  13. Mimaki VS Roland - Metallic & White Color Inks

I've used both, and the white is not very opaque and requires more maintenance. The metallic ink rubs off with light thumb pressure. From my experience, jobs that require white, or jobs that are to be printed on specialty films, should be processed on a UV or Thermal Transfer. Ask the...
  14. Taking the Leap

    Good luck!
  15. my print head keeps lifting the screens out of the capping station

replace the cap top for the newer version and they should stay in place. that used to drive me nuts!
  16. Gerber Saber perfect circle problem

not sure about the Gerber model, but most cutters have internal test / adjustment sfor origin and end points meeting up. If the values are wrong, the problem shows up in large circles more often than any other shape in my experience
  17. New model?

Robert M, That's what I thought; end of Mimaki's fiscal year. I wanted to make sure that was the only reason they were cutting the JV33 price before scooping some more 33s' up. Thanks!
  18. Static from Vinyl

stopstatic.com they have all sorts of solutions for many different applications. as stated above, humidity plays a part too- humidity can help lower some static, but high humidity can also have adverse affects on some flexible substrates and printing overall
  19. My Dog - Had To Share

is Rocket wearing a tiny Fireman's hat?
  20. New model?

Has anyone heard of Mimaki's next generation of wide format solvent printers coming out? What's the "next genreation" of JV33? Unfortunately for me, I won't be able to get to Vegas, and I am looking at buying some new Mimaki printers today... Should I wait? Thanks,
