Double-hitting the print may be problematic - whenever we've done it on reasonably long prints, there always seems to be a bit of mis-alignment towards the end - I think the vinyl stretches (or shrinks) during the first pass?

Greetings! Is there a way in Coreldraw, of making outlines less perfect? I have a trace to do on a previously hand-done image - the outlines are easy enough to trace, but look too 'clean' and perfect. Is there a way of making them look more hand drawn/painted?

To get a perfect finish with nice shiny edges, find someone close to you with a laser engraver. Acrylic cuts like butter on these machines and will give you a great product. Not lexan, though - polycarbonate doesn't laser well.

This happens to us periodically. No solution we've found except restart everything and keep the environment temperature up - it seems to happen worse when it's cold. We tried a separate network card in the computer, but it doesn't make much difference. It's a royal pain when it disconnects with...

Greetings, It's been a while since I've bought a new vinyl plotter, so I'm a little out of the loop. Are there such things as network attached plotters i.e. ones that can be accessed directly through the network? Or are they all USB connection to a computer?

Then we'll agree to disagree - I just don't think it is a good model for an industry already struggling to get what it's worth.

By virtue of it being a 'contest', after you've picked the winner, all the other designers who have entered the contest have essentially worked for free. You may not use their design, but they still had to do the work.

If you're comfortable with those designers not chosen, effectively working for nothing? If you wouldn't work for free, you shouldn't expect designers to either.

Just a comment - all the major laser producers like Epilog,Trotec, etc state that laser cutting PVC is a no-no. Releases all kinds of nasty things, the least of which would damage the machine. Of course, I see a few ads appearing for pvc-free films - be interested to see if/how they cut?

But isn't that right? - the RIP is changing the output to accurately reflect the Roland spot color on your printer? On our VP-540, RVW-ST22H shows output as 69.8 / 34.9 / 0 / 20

Just wondering why you are masking laminated prints? Are they contour cut or some odd shape that needs the mask?
