It should. You will waste all the ink in the lines and dampers and then a little more when it flushes out the cleaning fluid. We have done this a few times (to move the printer in odd positions) with no trouble. Marsha

Over 6 years with our Rolands and NEVER needed to do it after it was set up. It has been moved 4 times and 3 of those time stood on end to "make it around a corner". Still cuts right on and prints perfect. We did a head wash and pumped out all the inks before moving (since it had to "stand up")...

Cap tops are easy, and will need to be replaced many times. If you can do them you will save yourself a ton of cash over the years. Think we pay about $25 per captop and it only takes maybe 15 mins. Good Luck! Marsha
