I surely hope this is possible with Dave. He is fully paralyzed on the right side of his body, and he has two conditions ... I can't think of the names for them ... He tries to talk but only unintelligible babble comes out. He understands what you are saying to him, but he cannot communicate...

I do not have the software to work with those files. Sorry. Joe .

The closest college is WKU about 30 miles away. The local high school ... I don't want to hire a kid who stares at his iPhone all day. Been there, done that. I will see if there is a vocational school nearby, but I sort of live in "The Sticks" of Kentucky. No Barnes & Noble or Starbucks...
  6. Dimensional letters thickness vs height vs distance

Right. I said "thick 10" letters" meaning 10" tall by (n) thickness. If you use a thin acrylic face on foam letters, you can get the gloss face finish and still keep the letters lightweight. The HDU foam (SIGN FOAM) behind the letters would give them the volume, without the weight. Joe

I love living here. However, living is a rural area means there are limited options for helpers, or even friends who like to hang around a shop and get involved in projects. My good friend, Dave had a massive stroke on New Year's Eve, so he is out of the picture now. I pray for him, but I...
  8. Dimensional letters thickness vs height vs distance

I would not cut thick 10" letters out of PVC. That is a lawsuit waiting to happen, when one of the letters falls onto someone's head. Use 10 lb. SIGN FOAM and cut the letters as thick as you want. Joe

What is the VDT format? Ahhh... I see. Software to cut vehicle wraps to premeasured templates. Wow! Joe

  11. I Guess CNC Plasma Cutting is not 'In The Circle'

The most AMAZING woman I ever met was a gal named "Jackie." She and her boyfriend were hitchhiking West, so I picked them up for a long ride to California. We talked about how they afford to travel around. She told me she is an artist! So of course I asked her if she paints, or does the...

I think I would enjoy the craft show circuit. Load up the trailer with some machines, tools, hardware, etc. etc., and roam the countryside in search of craft fairs, art shows, flea markets, etc. I could set up and make a few signs and things just for FUN, and maybe make a buck or two in the...

I have an ETSY store, but almost nothing on it at the moment. I hope to change that very soon. Local sign shops ... it is a funny thing about "competitors." I am the kind of guy who believes we should all meet, and KNOW each other. We should KNOW what this guy can and CANNOT do, and that...
  14. It’s been a while. Here’s a couple recent ones.

    Completely awesome!
  15. I Guess CNC Plasma Cutting is not 'In The Circle'

Johnny Cash and June Carter-Cash got married in a church on the Square here in Franklin, KY. They had a 50th year Johnny Cash Bash here, and so I made this piece to display in my store. I donated it to a church to sell at an auction. I don't know where it is now. Someone bent one of the...
  16. I Guess CNC Plasma Cutting is not 'In The Circle'

This is a project I want to do this summer. 163 individual strips of metal, each hanging from a single nail at the top, and each cut to reveal the image via the darkness behind the white metal strips. This will be 10 feet tall and nearly 17 feet wide. Joe
  17. I Guess CNC Plasma Cutting is not 'In The Circle'

My very first attempt at half tone routing. 19,640 dimples, each individually bored to a specific depth. It took nearly 11 hours for the machine to make this. Sandra is the lady who makes my heart go pitter-patter!

It is difficult to know what will sell, and what will collect dust. The child on a swing is called "No On to Push Me." Joe
  19. I Guess CNC Plasma Cutting is not 'In The Circle'

That is a piece of SIGN FOAM. Carved with a router, and then some flat spray paint. It literally took me about 15 minutes to make it from start to finish. Before the 2019 zombie apocalypse began, and so many people became instant germaphobes, I had a nice enclosed gooseneck trailer ordered...

Hi Stacey, Yes, COLOR makes metal art "pop!" I do use spray paint and primer, etc. I am currently in the process of building a powder coat oven. You are correct, in that I am a single MALE, and so my stuff certainly lacks "the feminine touch!" Vive Le Differance! Everything I make is...
