My Market is there... getting requests all the time - I would say I would use it 1-2 times per week - especially working for the fire service I have a lot of people wanting me to make them mugs. What brand Epson do you have and do you use the Sawgrass inks?
So looking for any comments or suggestions on dye sublimation printers. I use to do mugs before and more or less got out of it because of the problems and expense with "Having" to buy Sawgrass inks but I am hearing that there are more distributors coming out with dye sub inks again.
Main do...
Need to make a couple of banners for outdoor use - to be hung on side of a building for extended period of time. What is the best thickness of banner to use for something like this.... will have vinyl lettering and 1 graphic on it.
Having trouble and wondering if someone has an idea. Working on an existing logo that is a circle (image below) I tried to vectorize the below image to cut it out but it will not work in Flexi.. Went to Bitmap and then vectorize then bezier and nothing seems to happen. Working fine with other...
I went in to tools and chose cut/plot and unchecked "Connect to my local Production Manager Using TCP IP"
Restarted Flexi assured that it was still unchecked and I added my new setup. I even deleted the one that was in there...

After re-installing Flexi 7.0 on my new PC I go into the production manager and add a new setup choosing the appropriate cutter driver. Once I set it up along with the com port and send my job to the cutter everything works fine.
The problem I am having is that the setup for that specific...
I am using the same serial cable that I have been using for the last 5 years - I think I know what the problem is.... I never setup the correct configuration in Flexi - I am using a JSI P24 cutter (which is not in the list of cutters) I cannot remember which substitute cutter to use (know it is...
Thanks guys I did end up getting a new serial pci card and installed it today - once I got everything installed I went in to Flexi to send a test cut.

My computer crashed so I have to buy a new desktop - my current plotter connects via a 9 pin serial port (male on the back of desktop) all new computers now do not come with that connection.
I can probably install one when I get my new PC but would I be ok using a serial to USB adapter? Just...
I did check Conde and for some reason the cartridges for the Ricoh are cheaper than the Epson. $60 ea per color for the Ricoh (29 ml) and $85 for a 13ml Sublijet cartridge for the Epson c88 and also saw $74 for an 18ml ArTainium UV+ that I hear is more resistant to UV Light.
That is the one negative thing I have heard. Most people say that the best think to do is to leave the printer on 24/7 so the ink will not dry in the heads. But obviously leaving it on so it doesn't dry means that the printer is going to cycle through a cleaning on its own (how often I don't...
a little off the main topic of vinyl but looking for someone with some advice.
Years ago I was heavy into the mug making with dye sublimation but I slowly got out of it and my press went bad anyway. Now I am looking to get back into it 9especially since I am receiving a lot of local requests)...
Anyone have any black reflective scrap laying around? I never use black reflective and I need (10) 1" x 5" rectangles with rounded corners for my fishing cooler rack on the front of my truck and I really didnt feel like buying an entire roll just to cut them.
So if you have some and you want...
Why are people who prefer to sometime utilize a wet application always critizied???
Dont get me wrong I value opinions from others and if you prefer dry that is fine but there are sometime circumstances that in my opinion do warrant a wet application.
So when a question is asked and you...
