send the same layout to your printer again. watch the cut queue to be populated with a new cut job and then kill the print

I will look into Wasatch for that option- thanks!
  3. error 16 MRL Command JV33

same settings since 2007... sometimes the printing stops, most of the time it doesn't. No one has been able to pin point the origin. We've swapped out computers, cables- everything but the printers. the problem goes away and comes back randomly. The only thing I can think based on what the techs...
  4. error 16 MRL Command JV33

We have an appealingly random problem with our JV33 printers; all running on Wasatch and Windows. It can happen with any file (we print .eps.) and on any of the 3 PC's we use. The issue is that although the print spooler is running and the active light on the printer is blinking, the print has...

  7. Summa S class 2 plotters, the new ones

S-75 has 2 pinch wheels, but I think you can request one from the factory with additional rollers.
  8. Summa S class 2 plotters, the new ones

for cutting small characters, a tangential knife is best. Consider a take-up with your purchase. The OPOS-CAM is an actual camera that finds the marks.
  9. OPOSx Question

Try "Summa Barcode" for the mark type. Load the print onto the plotter then (on the touch screen) tap "Actions" > "Load" > "Summa Barcode." The plotter will scan the barcode and then poll Wasatch for the appropriate cut job from the queue. There is a barcode in front of the layout as well as...
  10. Do I need new dampers?

our tech suggested swapping them out for new ones every 6 months based on his knowledge of our 24hr 6day/week workflow. Thats Mimaki, though. It would be a good idea to have a couple on hand for when they start to cause problems
  11. Graphtec CE5000 - Contour Cutting Accuracy

Sounds like the pinch wheels may possibly be set at different tensions. As you move the media back and forth on the feed axis, does it feed straight or does it skew? If you send the same job out again will it cut in the same place (1/8" off?) If you measure the cut, is it the same size as the...
  12. Cutting master 2

if you save a version of your gerber file as an eps or ai this will work. Print the plt, and then open the ai/eps for cutting. Good Luck!
  13. Where to sell old equipment

    check out GlobalGarage.com
  14. JV33 life span

Anyone know how to get into JV33 service mode and have the printer tell you how many hours it's been run? Also, any thoughts on how long well a maintained JV33 will last before showing signs of old age? I need to come up with a plan for cycling out old printers for new ones... we recently had...
  15. Cutting woes!

The blade off-set may need to be adjusted as the blade dulls, or maybe there is too much blade stick out. The "thinner" tip area of the 60* will allow thicker material to be cut with less chance of vinyl pulling up at the corners. Personally haven't run a Roland in a few years; is there perhaps...
  16. how many %$&^ masks can there be in a file?

its frustrating to get those files! I will typically rasterize a copy and auto trace it and turn that into the cut path. The only remaining problem is that the masks are still there, and can influence your print space; a 4" square logo with a 6"SQ mask may take up 6"SQ of layout real-estate.
  17. Question Regarding Outdoor stickers

print> laminate> cut. That's one draw back of a solvent ink print & cut device. The Summa or Gerber Thermal Transfer printers can apply a scratch coat prior to cutting. Solvent is cheaper, but the colors will not be as scratch resistant as the resins, so laminating is required for longevity...
  18. Color changes when placing image from Photoshop into Illustrator

syncing colors for Suite software through Bridge should help
  19. new media flange design
