Fading depends on several things such as ink type; solvent, thermal resin, aqueous? Are you planning to laminate the print? Does your lam have UV inhibitors, or just scratch resistant?

I have drawn a test pattern to see how far off the print to cut registration is. The cut is perfect along both axis on the control panel side of the feed axis. As the cut processes it's way to the opposite side of the platen it loses registration on both axis...

the cutting is mis-registered to the print on the scan axis (B) How do you get into service mode on this plotter? Where is the adjustment for X/Y calibration (Mimaki calls it A axis and B axis.) I had to make this same adjustment a couple years ago and forgot! Thanks for your help!

we exclusively use 99%. cleaning substrates prior to application is one thing, but if cleaning any type of equipment the 70% can leave water behind.

Summa has great support; they will help you figure it out over the phone. I think in some of there models there is a setting that allows the plotter to work outside the limits of the pinch wheels. Never done it myself, but pretty sure it can be done. There techs will know the answer

not familiar with that model, but some of our take-ups have had the same issue. Re-seating the cable connection at the printer resolved the problem. Hope yours is that easy. Good Luck!

Another option for pattern making is Artlandia Symmetry Works. Unfortunately, it's not free like the one above, but it's not that expensive. The software is available as a plugin for PhotoShop and Illustrator. It takes full advantage of smart objects and symbols, so everything remains editable...
